2015 Kent ASA Swimming Championships - Promoter's Conditions incorporating Multi Classification Inclusive events (under ASA Laws and FINA Technical Rules of Swimming) to be read in conjunction with the Swimming Championship conditions as set out in the county handbook for 2015 General Conditions 1. A swimmer must have been an ASA registered member of the club in whose name they are entered at least 30 days prior to the first day of championships is taking part have been completed. and remain so continuously 2. Swimmers may only represent ONE club throughout 3. The age of each swimmer shall be as at 8 March 2015'. Competitors March 2015. Swimmers cannot swim out of age in a relay team. 4. Multi classification events are included in the championships and classified swimmers are subject to the general conditions and supplementary multi classification conditions. Meet Programme 17. As per attached 18. Published qualifying times are short course times. Equivalent Performance 19. All submitted Converted long course times are accepted using ONLY the 'ASA Tables'. entry times must have been achieved at a licensed meet level 1,2,3,4 on or after 16 February 2014. 20. If the championships are oversubscribed the Promoter reserves the right to reject entries based on the submitted entry times. The fastest swimmers in each age group will be given priority. Rejected swimmers under this condition will receive a refund. Clubs will be notified as soon as possible after the closing date. 21. If necessary the 800m freestyle event will be restricted to 6 heats and 1500m freestyle event will be restricted to 4 heats. Verification of entry times 22. By submitting entries to the meet administrator, club representatives the above criteria. 23. Submitted times should be short course (converted Tables'). Relay lead ofttimes are declaring that entry times submitted meet long course times accepted using 'ASA Equivalent Performance ONLY achieved at a licensed level 1,2,3,4 will be accepted for entry when proof of achievement is included with the entry forms. 24. If after the event has been swum clubs are found to have submitted unsubstantiated entry times, the meet promoter reserves the right to remove any awards or points that may have been awarded for the swim in question. 25. Clubs that are found to have entered unsubstantiated entry times will be referred to the Swimming Committee. Medals/Trophies/Awards 26. Medals i" place will be awarded in each age group boys and girls 9yr, 10yr, llyr, (10/11yrs for 100m events) 12yr, 13yr, 14yr, 15yr, 16yr, 17/18yr, Junior (16/UN) and Open. Medals will not be awarded to any Age Group s" and/or Junior swimmer who makes an Open final until after the final has been swum. Age group and Junior medals will be based on their position in the Open final. Where insufficient Juniors and Age Group relevant to the number of awards to be made reach the final the rest of the places shall be determined from the times achieved in the heats by the remaining Juniors and Age Group swimmers. 27. Medals to teams placed i", 2nd, 3'd 28. Medal and trophy presentations will be made to the 1st - 3'd Open swimmers and 1st - 3'd Junior swimmers. 29. Medal and trophy presentations will be made to 1st 30. The Mick Geer Salver will be presented on the last day of individual championships to the swimmer who has achieved the highest FINA points in an individual swim. 800/1500 points will not be considered for this award. st 32. Points for the overall top men's club and top ladies club will be based on a points system 1 - 6pts to s'' place lpt- obtained from all age groups, Junior and Open positions including relays. Points shall not be awarded where a swimmer does not achieve the event qualifying time in the heats or final. 33. Points for the top age group club 9, 10, 11, (10/11 yrs for 100m events) 12, 13, 14 boys and girls will be based on a th points system i" - 6pts to 6 -lpt. Relay scoring will not be included. Points shall not be awarded where a swimmer does not achieve the event qualifying time in the heats or final. Meet procedure 34. ONLY team managers/club coaches will WITHDRAW swimmers/teams from an event at least 45 minutes prior to the start of a session. 35. Failure to withdraw a swimmer/team 45 minutes prior to the start of a session will result in a fine, to be paid by the appropriate club, when any heat is swum with an empty lane, £10 per empty lane. 36. Team cards will be available for collection on the first full day of championships. Cards of competing teams must be handed to the CoC at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the session. A team of 5 swimmers may be noted on the reverse of the card. Before handing over the card, the reverse of the card must be completed name and the swim order. Only one team per club may be entered for any team event. with the swimmers 37. Coaches/Team managers MUST advise of any team changes/swim 38. Heat start lists will be posted on poolside. It is the swimmer's order before the start of the finals. responsibility to check the lists to ensure that they have been accepted into the event. 39. Warm up facilities will be available. The diving pit at Medway Park and at Crystal Palace is NOT to be used during the official warm up period. 40. Warm up marshals will be appointed and their instructions must be followed. 41. Club coaches/team managers remain responsible for their swimmers at all times. 42. There will be Open finals for 50m and 100m events. 43. All events 200m and above are Heat Declared Winners (HOW) 44. For those events with finals, as soon as possible after the heats have been completed reserves will be announced. Swimmers and reserves are required to withdraw final. This allows other swimmers the opportunity the 6 finalists along with 2 if they do not wish to take part in the to take part. 45. Reserves who have not withdrawn from a final should report to the marshals with the other finalists. 46. 'Over the top starts' may be in operation where it is deemed necessary and practical. 47. Swimmers MUST NOT climb over the touch pads. Seeding 48. For all Heat Declared Winner (HOW) events, the last 3 heats will be spearheaded. 49. For all events with a final the heats will be seeded slowest to fastest. 50. All finals will be spearheaded. Poolside access 51. Access is not permitted without a poolside pass 52. Where passes have been issued these MUST be worn at all times and on DISPLAY. 53. A maximum of 2 passes per club may be purchased at £15 per pass to cover all the championship dates. Thereafter a club may apply for a free pass to a ratio of 1:10 swimmers above 20 swimmers on poolside per session. A pass allows access to tea/coffee/biscuits at the start of each day and between sessions. 54. The Promoter reserves the right to request any person to leave poolside, whether or not that person has a poolside pass, without having to give a reason. 55. Failure to produce a pass when signing in will result in a temporary access to poolside. pass being issued at a cost of £15 before Technical and Non Technical Officials 56. The Championships cannot run without people to fill both technical and non technical roles on the day. With this in mind clubs are expected to provide volunteers, both qualified licensed officials and people to fill technical and non technical roles e.g. selling programmes, marshalling, electronic timing operation, results desk, distributing pools ide refreshments and refreshments for officials. Photography In accordance with ASA Child Protection policy, all photographic equipment, including mobile 'phones with cameras, must be registered at each gala. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL SWIMMERS AND COACHES There is an inherent danger when diving into water of less than 1.8m depth, which applies in various areas of all the pools we use for our championships. All competitors are warned concerning this and are required to take every care when diving into swimming pools. Swimmers must be competent to the standard of the ASA Competitive Start Award to the satisfaction of their coach before they are permitted to use starting blocks. It is dangerous to topple forward head downwards from starting blocks particularly when trying to restrain a false start.
