Millwall Community Trust Job Description Job Title Community Coach Reports to Schools Coaching and Sports Participation Manager Location The New Den Stadium in South Bermondsey, and various locations across south London (dependent on home address and flexibility to travel). Hours Various hours, but all roles require flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required and to be available to trouble-shoot. Contract Sessional starting January 2015 Job Purpose To coach football /multi-sports and develop all ability children, mainly in the 4-14 age group, whilst supporting the Manager with relationship management and securing new business. Remuneration Hourly rate of pay dependent on experience and level of coaching qualifications Auto-enrolment into the Trust’s pension scheme (depending on eligibility) Club discounts and offers Role Accountabilities & Key Duties 1 To administer high quality football and multi-sport coaching, enabling individuals to develop according to their abilities and encouraging them to sustain activity levels 2 To manage the delivery of curriculum and extra-curricular activity and work within allocated schools 3 To support the development of coaching resources as required 4 To liaise with school staff as and when required to maintain first class working relationships 5 To guide and encourage participants to make appropriate decisions about further participation in sport at a level appropriate to their ability 6 To deliver on any holiday courses and soccer school activity, including Saturday Morning and after school Clubs and assist with the recruitment of participants via schools delivery 7 To plan and deliver at a development level working across MCT’s development centres 8 To identify the needs of individual groups and tailor your delivery as appropriate 9 To provide practical assistance to young leaders, other coaches and volunteers 9 To adhere to safeguarding guidelines, including undertaking risk assessments and reporting any incidents / accidents to your Line Manager immediately 10 To keep up to date registers for all activities and add details to the Charity’s database (Substance Views) on a regular basis 11 To act as an Ambassador for Millwall Community Trust and Millwall FC at all times 12 To cross promote MCT programmes within schools that will assist with business development and secure new contracts 13 To attend training courses and continuing professional development sessions as and when required.
