Vivo Contemporary, 725 Canyon Road

“Art, in itself, is an attempt to bring order
out of chaos,” wrote lyricist Stephen
Sondheim. Vivo Contemporary’s newest
show, Order and Chaos, makes that maxim
its theme. The exhibit of works by 14
gallery artists — Joy Campbell, Ilse Bolle,
Paul Biagi, Barrie Brown, and Marina
Brownlow among them — opens Friday,
Jan. 9, with a 5 p.m. reception. The artists
interpret the theme of order from chaos
through their chosen mediums, which
include painting, calligraphy, ceramic and
paper sculpture, glass works, book
arts, and printmaking.
