ACCOUNTING FOR NON-ACCOUNTANTS
As an attorney, there is no doubt that knowledge is power. If you possess financial knowledge
that your opponent does not, you will have an advantage over your adversary. Yet, typically
attorneys are not financially oriented. That is why this program, taught by Gary B Rosen, CPA,
CFF, CVA, CFE, CGMA, on January 7 is for you.
Understanding basic accounting concepts or principles, which are referred to as Generally
Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), will enhance your grasp of the matter’s financial
picture. Additionally, this knowledge will help you to understand whether you should ask your
potential client provide a retainer or request your potential client seek alternative counsel.
LOOKING FOR A CAREER
PATH? WHY NOT AIM TO
BE A JUDGE?
Join NYCLA’s Young Lawyers Section
on January 14 for a discussion
of So You Want to Be a Judge:
Duties, Requirements and Ethical
Considerations. Hear from judges
how they navigated the road to their
current positions, as well as the ethical
considerations that they constantly need
to keep in mind. Along with hearing the
judges’ stories, audience members will
have the opportunity to engage in an
interactive question and answer session
with the panel.
FOCUS ON IMMIGRATION
THIS JANUARY AT THE CLE INSTITUTE
This January the CLE Institute will focus on how immigration affects different practice
areas. On Wednesday, January 21 join NYCLA’s LGBT Committee for Immigration and
Same Sex Marriage, with guest speaker Rachel B. Tiven, Esq, Immigration Equality.

Being A Good
Lawyer Isn’t
Enough!
Why you need to become a
rainmaker now & how to do it
“Rainmakers Are Not Born, They Are Taught sm" is a phrase that Jaimie B.
Field, Esq. not only believes, but has proven with almost 15 years of
teaching attorneys how to ethically build a book of business. Each and
every attorney can learn to bring in new business; and now, more than ever,
it is imperative to do so in order to control your career.
10 Month Program
Months 1 & 2: The program begins with the
development of your Rainmaking Plan.

Management & Motivation Techniques

effectively modify your business development
strategies to raise your visibility and credibility using
tactics which fit into your Rainmaking plans.

Months 6 & 7: The Role of Social Media in Business
Development for Attormeys and How to Use Ethically.

pitches and client service strategies to keep clients
happy for life.
Month 9: Creating a Referral Strategy & Conscious
Cross Marketing
Month 10: Continue to upgrade Rainmaking Strategies
I highly recommend Jaimie as a legal marketing and
rainmaking coach. Her suggestions and help in creating a
marketing business plan are right on point and reap results
when put into practice. She is an out of the box thinker and
quite creative in her approach.
— Paul Sowell; Trusts and Estates Attorney
Brilliant and Insightful Rainmaker!!! In 10 minutes or less,
Jaimie provided my business with a genius plan of action to
profitably manage our clientelle.
— Tini Thomas; Owner, Tini Thomas, Attorney at Law
The coaching agreement is for a 10 month period. The monthly
fees {$175 per attorney/month} entitles you to the following:
• One in person group coaching session in which all attorneys
must attend
• Monthly accountability emails and progress reports to keep the
attorney motivated
• Unlimited text, email and brief phone contacts as needed
Part of coaching includes giving feedback, asking tough
questions, fostering discovery and pointing out blind spots. I will
ask the group to move past their comfort zones on many
occasions. However, I will be extremely respectful of their “fears”
and we will work through them together in the most effective
manner for each.
10 month coaching begins March 2nd, 2015 • email [email protected] to register
