Yet in reality the process is quite simple. In response to our successful online Marine Radio program we have devised a Coastal Navigation program in conjunction with the respected Tony Hollins. Below you will find details of learning outcomes, materials, costs etc. which can now be conducted from the comfort of your home. LEARNING OUTCOMES: On successful completion of this course you will: Be able to interpret information on nautical charts Identify charts symbols, dangers, soundings, lights etc. Use nautical charts for plotting courses, dead reckoning, estimated and confirmed (fixes) positions, Transits, distances and directions, calculating Set and Drift Understand the IALA Buoyage system Understand and use Speed, Time and Distance calculations Apply Variation and Deviation to courses and bearings Be introduced to Radar and GPS for use in navigation Conduct a simulated passage Understand and apply tidal and current information Receive unlimited phone & email access to our Trainers and much more Requires Windows 98 or higher COURSE DELIVERY: The course is conducted on an individual basis The course is delivered online and via CD EQUIPMENT SUPPLIED: We can supply the Coastal Navigation..it’s Easy! CD only, for those who already have navigation tools, or we can supply equipment such as Chart, parallel rules, compass, dividers, etc. COURSE COST: Cost range from a low $99.00 to $255.00 depending on whether a final assessment for the issue of a Nationally Recognised Certificate and navigational equipment is required.
