After Jesus was baptized, he saw the Spirit of
God descending like a dove and a voice was
heard “This is my beloved Son, with whom I
am well pleased.” As we give to the poor, we
also can hear these same words. A s you place
your gift in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Poor Box, know that you are a sign of God’s
love to those who are suffering and you give
them reason to believe and to trust.. If you or a family you
know need assistance, please call the Society of St.
Vincent de Paul, 412-461-6906, Ext. 5, so that
together we can help the suffering and poor.

NEXT WEEK’S SECOND COLLECTION IS FOR
ST. ANTHONY SCHOOL PROGRAMS & DEPAUL SCHOOL FOR HEARING AND SPEECH
The Pittsburgh Diocese is home to two nationally recognized educational programs for children with special
needs: St. Anthony School Programs and DePaul School for Hearing and Speech (formerly known as The
DePaul Institute). A special collection to benefit these two organizations will be taken the weekend of January 17-18, 2015 at all masses at each parish.
St. Anthony School Programs provides children with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism, Catholic special education in five elementary/intermediate classrooms, two secondary classrooms and college-age programs located on the campus of Duquesne University with training sites at Carlow University and the University of Pittsburgh. St. Anthony’s also offers an academic component to the curriculum through Carlow University for
qualified post-secondary students.
DePaul School for Hearing and Speech provides Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) education to children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Without the use of sign language, DePaul students learn to listen and
speak and successfully transition to their neighborhood schools alongside their peers with typical hearing.
Your donation will help St. Anthony School Programs and DePaul School for Hearing and Speech to further
their goals of providing quality educational programs and services to their students. Your support is critical.
Your generosity will help these organizations forever improve the lives of their students and families.
As a parish, we are blessed with the opportunity to shape and develop the lives of children with special needs. By participating in the annual Diocesan Collection to benefit St. Anthony School Programs and DePaul School for Hearing and Speech, you help create remarkable opportunities for the
children they serve.
In addition to supporting children with special needs, your kind donation counts toward your
Parish Share Assessment.
St. Anthony School Programs and DePaul
School for Hearing and Speech warmly
thank you for your continued support of
our missions.
