Dayl Wise served in Vietnam and Cambodia in 1970. He is a
member of Vietnam Veterans against the War, and publisher
of Post Traumatic Press.

Alison Koffler is an English and Creative Writing teacher. She is
a three-time winner of the Bronx Council on the Arts BRIO
Award in Poetry. In 2003 she was named Poetry Teacher of the
Year by Poets House and McGraw-Hill.

A Forum for Artistic Spontaneity

"EXPLORATIONS OF THE UNFORESEEN"
An improvisation by poets, musicians, performance artists, and
audience members, creating a "live art performance" guided
by structured improvisation.
Charles Stein and Mikhail Horowitz: A Poetry Reading
January 31 at 5:00pm
Charles Stein, poet, scholar, and translator of classical texts.
The author of eleven books of poetry, he is widely known both
for his sound poetry and his translations of Homer.
MIikhail Horowitz is a performance poet and comic who plays
to packed houses wherever he goes. In a more serious vein,
he has published 3 books of poetry.

A "tour" via photographs and videos of the world famous
Temples of Malta. Glenn Kreisberg's research suggest that
sound was the earliest link between form and function in the
architecture of these six thousand year-old structures.

Marshall Karp: A Reading

Mystery fans, pounce! A Woodstock writer with a national
reputation, Marshall Karp achieved fame and best seller status
with his big hit novel, The Rabbit Factory. When he joined
forces with James Patterson, king of the best sellers, to write a
series of police procedurals, his many fans rejoiced. (He will
sign copies of his latest, NYPD RED 3, at this reading.)

Laurie Kirby is a Professor of Mathematics at Baruch College
(City University of New York) and a Woodstock resident. His
alter ego, T.G. Vanini, performs his songs with the Princes of
Serendip.
Chronogram book editor Nina Shengold runs Word Cafe, a
lively mix of author reading, interview, and writing class that
premiered in Kingston last fall. A stellar selection of Hudson
Valley writers who participated in Word Cafe's first season will
read from their work and join a round table discussion of how
