We are currently looking for experienced Electronics Engineers to play a significant part in the design and continuous improvement of the company’s market leading products from initial specification through the entire product lifecycle. Duties and Responsibilities  Work effectively within a dynamic, multi-discipline engineering team to deliver integrated solutions  Participate in feasibility analysis, project scoping, resource planning and cost estimating  Contribute to project proposals, white papers and product architecture definitions  Translate use case scenarios and customer requests into requirements specifications  Provide realistic task durations for schedule/milestone planning and adhere to them  Specify, design, implement, debug and validate electronic hardware solutions  Assist in investigation, selection and evaluation of new components and techniques  Communicate status of development activities including progress, issues and risks  Participate constructively in board level design reviews with peers  Assist with high level integration, validation, evaluation and transition to manufacturing of products  Plan and execute field tests to assess functionality, performance and interoperability  Review, advise on and perform design changes to analogue and digital hardware  Generate high quality design documents, validation plans and application guides  Meet with customers regarding project ideas, feedback, or to perform demonstrations  Provide product sustaining engineering and manufacturing support including updates and enhancements  From time to time you may be asked to consider working extra hours to meet deadlines  On occasion, you may be required to travel between company sites and to customer sites Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience  BSc or higher degree in Physics, Electronics Engineering, Computing or related subject  PCB level digital or analogue circuit design and schematic capture  Design, layout and routing of multilayer, mixed signal PCBs or appreciation of activities involved  Prototype PCBA ‘bring-up’, debug, troubleshooting of circuit or manufacturing issues, verification  Platform integration and debugging to bring products to market Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience  Embedded microprocessor systems, computer architectures, standard busses, displays, FPGAs Senior Electronics Engineer ????  Power supply design, including switched mode topologies  Hardware or systems design for power efficiency and portability  System level and circuit simulation, signal integrity simulation and analysis  Communications and networking systems (wired and wireless)  Standard parallel and serial digital control and data interfaces  System timing analysis and clock tree design, source and system synchronous busses  Memory types, uses, interface topologies and signalling technologies  Audio/video CODECs, streaming, processing and related formats and interfaces  RF link budget analysis, signal propagation and path loss  RF front-ends, signal chain, receiver architectures, filters and amplifiers  Knowledge of direction finding, locating, geographical information systems (GIS)  Experience implementing thermal mitigation solutions at chip or enclosure level  An understanding of the mechanical aspects of electronic product development.  Design for manufacture and assembly as well as for automated manufacturing test  Experience producing engineering and manufacturing documentation  Knowledge or experience obtaining product agency certifications  Familiarity with embedded firmware design, high level programming or scripting languages  Experience leading an engineering team or project, ability to mentor others Individual Characteristics & Capabilities  The ability to work comfortably in design teams delivering to tight timescales  Motivated through interest and enthusiasm for learning and sharing knowledge  Innovative, creative, analytical and flexible problem solver  Can-do, will-do approach to challenges, desire to produce solutions to problems  Capable planner with highly developed organisational and time management skills  Willingness to challenge colleagues with constructive feedback and to receive same  Excellent communicator with strong written and spoken English language skills  Responsible, thorough and hard working with follow through and emphasis on quality  Conscientious, open and accountable, willing to help others to ensure team success  Agreement to participate in background security checks and ability to obtain UK security clearance Salary and Benefits  Competitive salary and excellent company benefits package including pension and life insurance How to Apply To be considered please contact Robyn Morrow, HR Officer, for an application form and further instructions.
