William “Bill” Soren Fengstad was born in Tisdale,
Saskatchewan on May 19th, 1940 to Herman and Violet (Lowe)
Fengstad. He grew up in the Crooked River area and went to
high school in Tisdale. Bill then went on to Bible College in
Outlook, SK. On September 14th, 1963 Bill married Diana
McKeachie in Tisdale SK. Together they had 3 children Ward,
Donna and Skipp.
Employed by the Department of Highways as a young man, he
continued his career with the government in similar capacities
for 28 years until his retirement in 1988. After retirement Bill
started a business in the lumber industry and dabbled in that
until he became too ill to work. He continued to enjoy his daily
trips to the acreage to feed and care for his rescued cats.
He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a
long standing member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife
Federation. He enjoyed sports in general but ball, hunting,
curling, football and fishing in particular. He will be missed at
Piprell Lake and by all his fishing buddies.
Bill is predeceased by his grandparents Soren and Selma
Fengstad and Walter and Margaret Lowe, parents Herman and
Violet Fengstad, infant brother Clifford, father- in-law Ray
McKeachie and his special dog Heidi.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Diana and their
three children Ward (Leona) Fengstad, Donna (Kerry)
Garchinski and Skipp (Melinda) Fengstad; six grandchildren
Teejay, Amanda, Justin, Riley, Jessica, Tyson and their spouses;
four great grandchildren; siblings Norman (Rosella), Lois

and friends.
