District online entry deadline is January 7th and the entry fee is $8.00. Consumer Decision Making
practice is held on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 6p.m. at the Fairgounds in Athens. For more
information on the practices contact Betty West at 903-451-2252.
Texas 4-H Dog Validation Open
Are you wanting to show your dog in the 2015 Texas 4-H Dog Show? If so, make
sure that you have them validated on 4-H CONNECT before the deadline of January
15, 2015. The 2015 Texas 4-H Dog Show Rule Book will be released in early 2015.
District 5 4-H T-shirts
The new design for the District 5 4-H shirts is out and available. This year’s design was
submitted by our very own Henderson County 4-Her Amanda Cooper.
If you would like to purchase a district shirt, please let Angela know by January 9th. She
will be placing an order for our county. Shirts are $10 and come in sizes adult small to 2x.

Come and learn about this great project and its contests. There will be hands on learning
activities. Please let the Extension office know you are coming so there will be enough

The district 4-H photography contest rules and guidelines have been
released. it is open to all 4-H members (except Clover Kids) and is NOT a
qualifying contest for state. Rules can be viewed at

Cost: $120
Archery, Rifle or Shotgun coach’s certifications. Sign up online
at texas4-h.tamu.edu and click on the 4-H Connect icon. You
must be a screened volunteer to register for this training. If
you are not, please create your profile as soon as possible so
that your volunteer screening can be accepted before the
registration deadline.
