These words of Pope Francis were from the Feast we
celebrate today, the end of the Christmas Season, the
Baptism of the Lord. At every Baptism there is some
point that touches the hearts of everyone, even the
clergy. To think that at the moment of Baptism original sin, inherited, is wiped away, and the Holy Spirit
begins to dwell and work on the child (or adult).

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS - Council 14972 News
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Knights of Columbus
Next Meeting is January 20
We wish to thank those individuals who have participated in
the parish cleanup program the past few months. As you may
have noted in the weekly bulletin, these individuals have
played a big part in keeping Coronation of Our Lady on track
for a balanced budget. For the past couple of months there
have been various issues to be worked out. Through the early
volunteers efforts the new cleaning program was implemented. The program will always require new volunteers to
ensure that we are able to maintain and expand in our effort.
We do not want to be a burden to those who have already
given of their time. Adequate equipment has been procured
to make cleaning easier, and training classes are held for each
new volunteer. We concentrated on in-depth cleaning, and
performed weekly cleaning as volunteers were available.
Meets the third Tuesday of each month in the Parish Center. Rosary
at 6:40pm followed by meeting at 7:00pm. Interested practicing
Catholic men are invited to meet with members of the council to discuss their participation.

All women at Coronation are automatically members of A&R
once you join our Parish BUT we need to increase the number
of women who actually participate in our activities. We need
women of all ages to meet and get to know one another and
to work together in this special organization that contributes
to our parish in so many ways, spiritually with their prayers
and compassion, physically with their time and talents, financially thru active participation in our fundraisers, clothing
drives, community activities for the poor and taking care of all
the needs of our sacristy. We also supply the votive candles
and the items in the religious article case. We have members
who make and embroider linens for baptisms and other occasions too. We hope you will join us soon.

CHAPTER TWO
AMID THE CRISIS OF COMMUNAL COMMITMENT
I. Some challenges of today’s world
60. Today’s economic mechanisms promote inordinate consumption, yet it is evident that unbridled consumerism combined with inequality proves doubly damaging to the social fabric. Inequality eventually engenders a violence which recourse
to arms cannot and never will be able to resolve. It serves only
to offer false hopes to those clamouring for heightened security, even though nowadays we know that weapons and violence, rather than providing solutions, create new and more
serious conflicts. Some simply content themselves with blaming
the poor and the poorer countries themselves for their troubles; indulging in unwarranted generalizations, they claim that
the solution is an “education” that would tranquilize them,
making them tame and harmless. All this becomes even more
exasperating for the marginalized in the light of the widespread
and deeply rooted corruption found in many countries – in their
governments, businesses and institutions – whatever the political ideology of their leaders.
Expense: $188,420.26 Income: $204,050.21
Devotional Candles
Light a candle for someone who is alone or who is
sick. Light a candle for the poor or the homeless.
Light a candle for our military personnel, our leaders
or our country. Light a candle for loved ones who are no
longer here or for those who are traveling or who have left the
church or lost their faith. Light a candle for world peace.
We request a $3.00 stipend be given for each candle lit.
Must be 18 or older to light a candle.
Some cultural challenges
Parish Memorials
61. We also evangelize when we attempt to confront the various challenges which can arise.[56] On occasion these may take
the form of veritable attacks on religious freedom or new persecutions directed against Christians; in some countries these
have reached alarming levels of hatred and violence. In many
places, the problem is more that of widespread indifference
and relativism, linked to disillusionment and the crisis of ideologies which has come about as a reaction to any-thing which
might appear totalitarian. This not only harms the Church but
the fabric of society as a whole. We should recognize how in a
culture where each person wants to be bearer of his or her own
subjective truth, it becomes difficult for citizens to devise a
common plan which transcends individual gain and personal
ambitions.
Golden Leaf Tree
Located in the vestibule, leaves are engraved with your loved
ones’ name and date of death.
Memory Garden Walkway
Bricks located outside the doors of the vestibule area, outline
the path through the flower garden and are engraved with
names of parishioners and loved ones.

163. How are non-Catholic Christians to be considered?
817-819
870
In the churches and ecclesial communities which are separated from full communion with the Catholic Church, many
elements of sanctification and truth can be found. All of these
blessings come from Christ and lead to Catholic unity. Members of these churches and communities are incorporated into
Christ by Baptism and we so we recognize them as brothers.
