PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
AGENDA AND OBJECTIVES
This symposium is a collaboration between CoxHealth,
St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and
Washington University School of Medicine and is designed
to highlight recent changes, updates and/or current
controversies in perinatal and neonatal topics. Topics will
include: thrombophilias, monochorionic twins, preterm birth,
preeclampsia, neonatal neuro-protection, neurodevelopmental
outcomes in NICU, non-invasive ventilation, skin and wound
care, cue-based feeding, gut microbiome, and quality
improvement in perinatal/neonatal care.
EDUCATIONAL CREDIT
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance
with Essential Areas and policies of the Missouri State Medical
Association through the joint sponsorship of CoxHealth and
St. Louis Children’s Hospital. CoxHealth is accredited by the
Missouri State Medical Association to provide continuing
medical education to physicians. CoxHealth designates this live
activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the
extent of their participation in the activity.

detect these conditions, and management options in pregnancy.

Accurately determine chorionicity in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Identify appropriate developmental feeding cues to help determine the infant’s

Preterm Birth: Antenatal Interventions
Describe factors that determine quality of oral feedings.
Discuss ways to improve oral feedings starting from the admission to the NICU
regardless of gestational age or diagnosis.
