A WORD OF WELCOME
In 2015, the WSAVA Congress will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a warm welcome and joy in
Bangkok, Thailand. Bangkok has always been listed as a “Top City Destination” and is a hub of Asia.
Apart from the world famous Thai cuisine and culture, Thailand offers a great variety of attractions.
These include sandy beaches, tropical islands, archaeological sites, exceptional flora and wild life,
spectacular palaces, Buddhist temples and several World Heritage sites. It is truly pleasure to welcome
you again to the 2015 WSAVA after a successful 2003 WSAVA in Bangkok. The scientific team has
started working hard to ensure the programme will be comprehensive and attractive to all veterinary
practitioners.

ABOUT WSAVA
The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) is not-for-profit body, dedicated to enhancing the quality of veterinary care for companion animals around the world. Its members include 91 veterinary associations, representing more than
145,000 individual veterinarians globally. The WSAVA’s primary purpose is reflected in its mission to ‘foster the exchange of
scientific information between individual veterinarians and veterinary organizations’ or - to put it more simply - ‘to promote
global veterinary continuous education (CE).’
The WSAVA works towards its goal in a number of ways but primarily through its annual flagship event, WSAVA World
Congress.
WSAVA World Congress
WSAVA World Congress, taking place this year in from 16-19 September in Cape Town, South Africa and in Bangkok
Thailand from 15-18 May 2015, attracts large numbers of veterinarians, veterinary nurses and technicians from around
the world. Not only do registrants have the opportunity to learn from leading experts on all aspects of small animal practice, but they also benefit from a unique opportunity to share experience, knowledge and friendship with colleagues from
around the world.
In order to encourage excellence in small animal practice, the WSAVA, with the support of sponsoring companies, also
presents a number of awards at World Congress to veterinarians chosen by an international panel of experts. Each gives a
lecture on their specialist subject during Congress.
Congress proceedings are subsequently made available online to member associations, veterinary schools, libraries and
individuals, providing a valuable source of the most up to date global knowledge.
In 2009 the governing body of the WSAVA, the Assembly, voted to change the established Congress format, in which it was
run by a local host committee from a member association and to, instead, engage a professional congress organizer. Kenes
International was duly appointed to this role and the first World Congress it has organized is this year’s event in Cape Town.
The Assembly also voted to rotate Congress on a three year cycle among three regions, member associations of which are
invited to submit bids.

In addition to World Congress, the WSAVA is now in the 22nd year of running an imaginative series of CE courses using
world-renowned speakers for veterinarians in areas where companion animal practice is relatively less developed. Overseen by the WSAVA CE Committee, the programme began in the ‘emerging countries’ of Eastern Europe and has now been expanded to include countries in many other regions of the world, including
the Balkan States, South East Asia, China, India and Latin America.

ABOUT WSAVA
WSAVA Management
The day-to-day management of the WSAVA’s affairs is overseen by its Executive Board, headed by its President with input
from three key Committees:

Financial Advisory Committee - which sets budgets and oversees the WSAVA’s financial management
•
Leadership and Nomination Committee - which assists in leadership identification and succession planning
•
Congress Steering Committee - which is responsible for the future development of World Congress
Its veterinary-focused work is focused in a number of key areas, also overseen by a Committee and includes:

Vaccination Guidelines Development
•
Global Pain Management
The WSAVA Convention for the Protection of Companion Animals contains a set of legislative proposals which have been
endorsed by the Assembly.
Many member associations are signatories, which means that they have agreed to the basic common standard of attitude
and practice and that they will use their influence and knowledge to educate their community about animals and to increase awareness of all issues affecting animal welfare.
A WSAVA Animal Welfare Symposium is always included in the programme of World Congress.
Benefits to members
The WSAVA works constantly to enhance its outreach to member associations. It publishes news in four languages on its
website; in a bi-monthly e-bulletin and in the Journal of Small Animal Practice, its official scientific journal. It is active
on social media and partners with Brief Media to produce a digital global edition of Clinician’s Brief, long the most highly
ranked journal for companion animal practitioners in North America. This is free to all members.
The WSAVA is playing an increasingly important role in enhancing veterinary care around the world. The areas it covers
and the scope of the practical initiatives it is undertaking are ambitious and expanding constantly. What drives its members
is a deeply-felt desire to create a strong global community of veterinarians who can help, support and learn from each other.
If it can achieve this, it can help to create a single global voice for veterinarians - a voice which will help to make the world
a better place for animals - and for humans. The phrase ‘I am a WSAVA veterinarian’ will mean something special indeed.

WEBCASTING
The WSAVA will capture selected congress sessions and present them as webcasts after the event. This will be made available to delegates and also promoted to non-delegates for example via the WSAVA Congress website, extending the reach of
the congress to all Veterinary professionals worldwide. We would like to explore a few interesting opportunities with you:
We can capture any session of your choice to be included as a part of this project.
The webcasting of a session requires careful work and attention to detail; if you prefer we will handle all speaker communications & authorizations and we allow speakers to review / edit the content of their session including the possibility of
hiding slides containing sensitive data. You do not have to organize and pay for a separate webcasting team. Our goal is to
optimize the learning experience for the viewers of the webcast. In most circumstances, pharmaceutical companies who
choose to webcast their symposia do so for internal online educational purposes.
For a more promotional approach we can link to your symposium webcast from the congress website. This allows the many
visitors to the Congress website to see your session online. The WSAVA endorses this opportunity because satellite webcasting income helps to partly recoup the webcasting of the scientific sessions.
Option 1: $7,500
You will get the webcast of your session that is quality controlled after post production. The file can be hosted on our
video server for 2 years (included in the price) but can also be hosted on a server of your choice. Promoting the webcast
is in your hands.
Option 2: $10,000
Option 1 and in addition we will promote your webcast with a banner on the right side on the congress website (http://
wsava.kenes.com//).
Option 3: $12,500
Option 1 +2 and in addition we will promote your webcast on the ‘landing page’ where you will see an overview of all
scientific webcasts. An example of a landing page is: http://webcasts.kenes.com/epa/. You will receive usage data on a
very detailed level.
Live Broadcast
The cost for live broadcasting of your session is $4.000 excluding the 1 MBit line that is needed.
The set up for the interactive Q&A is $1,700.
» The player software can be branded. We can add a trade mark on the player.
» The webcasts will need to be approved by the speakers and we can add you in this process. We also handle the speaker
agreements before your session starts. Sometimes speakers want certain slide with preliminary data hidden or they do not
want to be seen in the video. We take care of this. Before we send out the speaker agreements we will
send the draft to you for approval

ALLOCATION OF EXHIBITION SPACE
Space Allocation will be made on a “first come, first served” basis. A completed EXHIBITION BOOKING FORM AND
CONTRACT should be faxed / emailed to ensure reservation of a desired location.
Upon receipt of the EXHIBITION BOOKING FORM AND CONTRACT, space will be confirmed and an invoice will be
mailed. Please note that three alternative choices should be clearly indicated on the application form. Space allocations
will be made in the order in which application forms with payment are received.
EXHIBITOR REGISTRATION
All Exhibitors are required to be registered and will receive a badge displaying the exhibiting company name. Two exhibitor badges will be given for the first 9 sqm booked and one additional badge for each 9 sqm thereafter. Any additional

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms are the contractual agreement between the Organiser and the (Exhibitor/s/Supporter/s).
Application to Participate
Application to participate will be considered only if submitted on the appropriate forms, duly completed. Registration will be confirmed insofar as space is
available. Applicants will be informed in writing of the acceptance or refusal
of their application. In case of refusal, all payments shall be fully refunded. In
case of acceptance Supporters/Exhibitor will be bound by the Terms and Conditions listed in the prospectus and/or contractual agreement.
Obligations and Rights of the Exhibitor/Supporter
Registration implies full acceptance by the Exhibitors/Supporters of the exhibition / supporter regulations. Any infringement of these regulations may lead
to immediate withdrawal of the right to participate in the Congress without
compensation or refund of sums already paid, and without prejudice to the
Exhibitor/Supporter.
By submitting an application to participate, the Exhibitor /Supporter make a
final and irrevocable commitment to occupy the space /items allocated and
to maintain his/her installation until the date and time fixed for closure of the
event. The Exhibitor/Supporter may only present on his/her stand or space the
materials, products or services described in the application to participate. No
advertising on behalf of firms not exhibiting is permitted in any form whatsoever. Transfer or sub-letting of all or part of the allocated spaces is prohibited.
Obligation and Rights of Organiser
The Organiser undertakes to allocate exhibition space/supporter items space
as far as possible on the basis of the preference expressed by applicants. Application will be considered in order of receipt of application forms accompanied by payment.
The Organiser reserves the right, in case of absolute necessity, to modify the
positioning of stands, with no obligation to provide compensation to Exhibitors/Supporters. The Organiser reserves the right to offer to a different firm any
stand, space or supporter item that has not been occupied by the event of the
opening of the Congress, with no obligation to provide compensation to the
defaulting Exhibitor / Supporter.
Liability Insurance
Equipment and all related display materials installed by Exhibitors / Supporters
are not insured by the Organiser, and the Organiser under no circumstances
will be liable for any loss, damage or destruction caused to equipment, goods
or property belonging to Exhibitors / Supporters. The Exhibitor / Supporter
agrees to be responsible for his property and person and for the property and
persons of his employees and agents and for any third party who may visit his
space. The Exhibitor/Supporter shall hold harmless the Organiser from any and
all damages/claims including those usually covered by a fire and extended –
coverage policy. The Supporter/Exhibitor will purchase insurance policies for
the above listed damages.
Exhibition Regulations
The Exhibition Manager, acting under direction of the Organising Committee,
has the final decision as to the acceptability of displays. Exhibitors are not to
share with others any space allotted to them without prior written consent by
the Exhibition Manager.
The Organiser reserves the right to alter the general layout or limit the space
allotted to each Exhibitor / Supporter, postpone the exhibition or transfer it to
another site if unforeseen circumstances warrant such action. Should any contingency prevent the holding of the exhibition, the Organiser will not be held
liable for expenses incurred other than the cost of exhibit space rental fees.
All exhibits are to be displayed so as to avoid blocking aisles, obstructing

adjoining booths, damaging the premises or the leased equipment. Exhibitors are kindly requested to allow sufficient see-through areas, which ensure
clear views of surrounding exhibits. In standard booths, height is restricted to
246cm. Exhibitors are responsible for the cost and execution of the design,
installation and delivery of their display to (and its removal from) the exhibition
site.
Flammable materials are not to be used. Equipment displayed or demonstrated
must be installed with strict adherence to safety measures.
Exhibitors undertake to observe the timetable designated for completion of
their display before the exhibition opening and its dismantling at the close of
the exhibition. No dismantling or packing of the display before the designated
hour. It is the Exhibitor’s responsibility to pack and remove or consign for shipment all items of value prior to leaving their exhibit unattended, otherwise the
Organiser will arrange for their removal at the Exhibitor’s risk and expenses.
Exhibitors are obliged to ensure that their stands are permanently staffed during the exhibition opening hours.
Payment is to be made in accordance with the conditions of payment listed in
the prospectus.
Should the Exhibitor /Supporter fail to make a payment on time, the Organiser
is entitled to terminate the contract, withdraw confirmation of acceptance,
make other arrangements for the stand/ supporter items or seek compensation
for non-fulfilment of contract.
Participation by Exhibitors/Supporters is dependent upon compliance with
all rules, regulations and conditions stated herein. Access to the exhibition
is authorized on presentation of a badge issued by the Organiser. Exhibitors’
badges will not be mailed in advance and may be collected from the Exhibition Manager’s desk.
The Organiser ensures daily cleaning of the aisles. Exhibitors /Supporters are
responsible for the cleaning of their stands. The provision of refreshments for
the participants by Exhibitors is only permitted if the catering regulations of the
exhibition building concerned are observed.
Exhibition areas and fittings made available to Exhibitors must be handed back
in their original condition. In case of damage or loss of equipment provided,
or damage to areas occupied, repair and replacement will be charged to the
Exhibitor. Any special decoration or fittings must be submitted to the Organiser
for prior authorization. Advertising panels and display are not permitted outside the exhibition areas allotted to Exhibitors. The Organiser will not approve
stands, which do not comply with the accepted standards, until the necessary
changes have been made.
Code of Practice
It is the Exhibitor’s / Supporter’s responsibility to comply with the local authority’s regulations, EFPIA (European Federation of Pharmaceuticals Industries &
Associations) www.efpia.org and IFMPA (International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations) www.ifpma.org Code of Practice on
the Promotion of Medicines. Failure to comply with these regulations may not
be used as a ground to declare the contract void. Failure to comply with the
Rules and Regulations will not expose the Organiser to any suits, demands by
the Supporters/Exhibitor/any third party.
