Security Disability Application Pilot Project will utilize attorneys from participating law firms to
provide pro bono representation to individuals applying for Supplemental Security
Income/Social Security Disability Insurance benefits. The Housing Civil Right to Counsel Pilot

in public and subsidized housing in D.C. who is facing eviction. For both projects, the Staff
Attorney will be responsible for, among other things: developing expertise in housing and public
benefits law through an intensive training program; designing policies and procedures to
implement the projects; coordinating with the relevant D.C. and federal agencies and legal
services providers to facilitate case referrals; managing data in Legal Aid’s intake and client
management system; coordinating outreach to both potential law firm partners and potential
clients; referring cases to pro bono attorneys at participating law firms; and, conducting project
evaluations.
