Harahan, S.T.D., Headmaster As we begin a New Year we draw strength from our newborn Savior may He guide our Prep Family always. My child, I’ve often heard your question: This message is my answer. You’re concerned about the hungry in the world, millions who are starving…and you ask: “What can I do?” FEED ONE You grieve for all the unborn children murdered every day… and you ask: “What can I do?” SAVE ONE You’re haunted by the homeless poor who wander city streets…and you ask: “What can I do?” SHELTER ONE You feel compassion for those who suffer pain, sorrow and despair…and you ask: “What can I do?” COMFORT ONE Your heart goes out to the lonely, the abused and the imprisoned…and you ask: “What can I do?” LOVE ONE Remember this, My Child…two thousand years ago the world was filled with those in need, just as it is today, and when the helpless and the hopeless called out to Me for mercy, I sent a Savior… HOPE BEGAN WITH ONLY ONE! B .J. Hoff SUBJECT: January Notes FROM: Kevin McNulty, Assistant Headmaster Dear Parents, January always seems to be an interrupted time for instruction. The days are short, and the time for teaching seems also to be shortened. The Winter Advisory closes on January 9th, and all teachers will post a set of grades that week. I would remind you that the Advisory grade is just that, a snapshot of how your son has done in the relatively few class days that we have had since the close of the Fall Trimester. Parent Teacher Conferences are on January 29th. Conferences are from 3:00‐6:00. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, so please come early. SUBJECT: College Information Night for Juniors FROM: Benjamin Laster, Director, College Placement Dear Junior Parent(s)/Guardian(s): I hope you enjoyed the holiday season. On Thursday, February 19th at 7:00 pm, The College Placement Office will be hosting College Information Night for Juniors in the Prep Auditorium. This is a very important meeting for parents/guardians and students to attend. The event itinerary will recap and build on the items covered in the College Planning Kick-Off we hosted in September. Families will be given instruction on how to maximize the winter, spring and summer months in terms of college planning. Another exciting portion of the event will be an interactive college admissions panel. The panel will include admissions representatives from a mix of prestigious colleges. The representatives will provide valuable personal insight on the college application process. If you were not able to attend the College Planning Kick-Off in September, you may access the presentation and items covered on the Seton Hall Prep College Placement website. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the College Placement Department. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, February 19, 2015.
