Whether you're a life-long parishioner, a member of another parish,
been away from the Church, curious about becoming
Catholic, or just interested in learning more about the
Catholic faith, we welcome you! We are a faith community praying, believing, and
living as disciples through prayer, faith formation, education, social activities, and
outreach to those in need. We invite you to fully be a part of the Saint Catherine Labouré
family! Please be in touch. We look forward to walking with you! God bless you!
Dear Parish Family:
January 22 is a special Day of Penance & Prayer for the Legal
Protection of Human Life. Why January 22? Because it is the
date of the 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision that
legalized abortion in the U.S. throughout all nine months of
pregnancy. All human life is sacred from conception until
natural death. The taking of innocent human life, whether born
or unborn, is morally wrong. Human life is sacred because it is the creative action
of God who alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end. There are
many ways of observing this national day of prayer and penance. For example:
x aend Mass
x fast between meals and/or abstain from meat or some special treat.
x pray a rosary for the unborn and those wounded by abortion
x visit and pray before the Blessed Sacrament for respect for all human life
Another way is going to the Marching for Life on January 22 in Washington, DC.
It is a special day of prayer, witness, community, and (of course) marching. There
are still seats available on Saint Catherine’s bus. Would you like to join us for this
special testimony to life? See page 3 of today’s bulletin for details. Please pray for
safe travel and good pilgrimage for all our marchers.
Next Sunday, January 25, our parish will join Catholic schools across our nation for
the start of Catholic Schools Week. This special week provides a wonderful
opportunity to celebrate the gift Saint Catherine Labouré School has been, is, and
will always be as we teach minds, form hearts, and grow disciples. It’s also a
special time to say thank you for your spiritual and financial support that makes
Catholic Education a thriving reality in our parish. We invite you to join us for our
Open House next Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Come and see your parish
school! Visit the classrooms and roam the halls. Our faculty and students will be on
hand for tours and to share with you the incredible things happening at SCLS.
Refreshments will be served in Murray Hall.
Please remember the Saint Jude Shop of Philadelphia will be with us next weekend
with religious articles. See the details on page 3 for times and location.
Kindly note that we will operate on our Federal Holiday schedule on Martin
Luther King Day (Monday, January 19). The parish office and school are not open.
The 6:45 a.m. Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Miraculous Medal Novena are
not held. There will be one Mass at 9:00 a.m.
Love, grace, and peace,
Father Neil Sullivan

The Saint Catherine Labouré School Yearbook Club has
officially begun its third year of creating our Annual
School Memory Book. Many of our eighth grade students
have been working diligently as photographers,
proofreaders, typists, designers, and layout artists. With
amazing talent and enthusiasm, the students have chosen
a cover and are eager to publish students/faculty
participating in sports, activities, academic programs, and
various other school events. We are so grateful for the
generosity of Mrs. Ann Suknaic, Mrs. Rosetta Lilly, and
their Grade 8 Assistants.
