1. Introduction to LG HomeChat
• What kind of service is LG HomeChat?
- LG HomeChat service enables users to chat with Smart home appliances
in friendly, daily language through mobile messenger LINE.
• What are the main Range functions provided by LG HomeChat?*
- Check Status, Receive Various Status Notification Alerts (Cooking Complete,
Self-clean Complete), Search Recipe, and Smart Diagnosis.
* The Cook Top function is not supported.
• Which Range Model supports HomeChat service?

• What are the system requirements for LG HomeChat?*
The recommended phone specification are as below:
1. Recommended OS
- iPhone: iOS 7.0 or higher (iPhone 4s or higher)
- Android: 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher (1G memory or higher)
2. Recommended browser
-iPhone: Default browser and/or Safari browser
-Android: Default browser and/or Chrome browser
* Note that depending on the condition of your mobile device, some functions may
not be supported.

Installing LINE
Please check if the LINE application is installed on your
mobile device, and if not, search and install 'LINE' from
your application market(Google Play Store,
Apple App Store).
Warning
Additional data charges may occur if installed
over 3G/4G, according to your device plan.

Adding LG HomeChat as a friend on LINE
① Launch LINE and tap 'More > Official Accounts'
button.
Chat with Appliances
Chat with Appliances
② Find 'LG HomeChat' from the list or search for
'LG HomeChat' through the search function and
select it.
③ Add 'LG HomeChat' as friend, and you
are ready to chat with LG HomeChat.
Tip for adding friends
Go to 'Add Friends > QR Code' menu on LINE and scan the QR code
on the right to access adding friends function more conveniently.
You can also find the QR code on http://homechat.lge.com/

Agreeing to Terms and Conditions & Privacy Policy
② If you are over 13, tap the
'13 or older' button.
③ Read our terms and conditions,
check off the boxes, and tap the
'I Agree' button!
① Please tap the Terms and
Conditions link in your HomeChat
conversations.
④ You can now use HomeChat service.
Enter "Trial Mode" to chat with demo range first!
Warning
For a safe appliance control, LG HomeChat
does not allow service to young children.
Please make sure young children do not use
HomeChat service.

Connecting Range to HomeChat
① To control your home appliances through
HomeChat, you need to first register your
product. Enter “Connect” for the product
registration link.
② Tap the range Icon from the product icons
available for HomeChat connection.
Not registered to ThinQ? Product not registered?
If you do not have a LG Account, please
register by tapping the “Register as member”
button on the bottom of the page.
Please register by following the
instructions provided by LG ThinQ.

[Register Product to ‘LG Smart Range’ App]
To connect range to LG HomeChat, you need to
first install ‘LG Smart Range’ App on your mobile
device and register your range to it.
If the app is not already installed, search and install
‘LG Smart Range’ from your app market(Google
Play Store, Apple App Store, etc.).
Warning
Additional data charges may occur if installed over
3G/4G, according to your device plan.
① Please launch LG
Smart Range app you
installed.
② Use the ThinQ ID (LG Account)
you registered previously to log in.
If you don’t have an ID, tap the
“Register” button on the bottom of
the page.
③ Enter Home Page.

④ Set Wi-Fi on the range by following the instructions. When setting is complete, tap ‘Connect’.
⑤ A message will pop up when the modem is successfully connected.
* Retry, if connection fails.
⑥ Select your home wireless network in the network selection screen.
(Password is required for protected networks.)

⑦ Input password for selected network, and tap OK.
Once successfully registered, you'll be taken to the app's home page.
*Depending on your Wi-Fi connection, you may be taken to the log in screen.
Registration will be complete once you log in again.

① If you have registered to ThinQ and
your product is connected, insert LG
Account ID and Password and tap
‘Connect to HomeChat.’

② Products with ‘Available’ displayed on
the right is available for HomeChat
service. Select a product you wish to
connect to HomeChat, and tap ‘Next’.

Tap ‘Return to HomeChat
Conversations’ and chat to your
products.

Enter “Range What are you doing?" or “Range Status“ to check current status of your range.
Command List
Enter “Range Commands" or “Range Help“ to
see the list of range key functions and command
short-keys.
Enter “Range Quick Button" to see range
main functions in an image format and
control range with easy buttons.

Range Status Notification
Functions such as start cooking or other remotely controlled functions are not supported for
safety reasons.
HomeChat, however, notifies you with monitoring, progress, completion information.

② Choose the recipe you like the most and
have a blast cooking.

Smart Diagnosis
When you feel that there is something wrong
with the range, you can self check its status
through the ‘LG Smart Range’ App.
Please select the app link that appears after
you enter “Smart Diagnosis“.

Master Control
Are you leaving home or throwing a party?
Try out our Master Control function which lets you control all your products with one easy message.
Range status will be checked during “Away Mode”, and food recipes for parties will be recommended
during “Party Mode”.

Help / Inquiry
If you have any questions during HomeChat use, enter "Help" for various user's manuals.
※ For questions regarding products, contact LG Electronics Service Center for a faster response.
If you haven't found the answer you needed
from Help or FAQ, please use our 1:1 Inquiry
Service. Enter "Inquiry" in your HomeChat
Conversations for an URL to a page where you
can send your inquiry.
We will get back to you as soon as possible!

Service Settings
If you wish to check the status and edit settings of a specific product, or all products connected to
HomeChat, enter “Product info", "My Products" in your HomeChat Conversations.
If you go to product page, you can edit nickname, check status, see product manual and app,
and see mutual users.

Go to the 'Settings' menu on the top to access
functions such as Smart Notification settings, select
products for Master Control, Disconnect All, etc.

4. LG HomeChat Service Inquiry
Service Termination
If you wish to stop using HomeChat service, enter "Terminate Service" in your HomeChat
conversations for Service Termination page and information.
You can delete HomeChat from Messenger Friends list from messenger settings.

① Enter "Terminate Service"
and tap the ‘Go to Service
Termination Page’ link.
② Please read service termination
information and tap 'Terminate
Service'.
③ 'Service Termination' is
successfully completed.
[Delete HomeChat from Messenger Friends]
① Go to the top right menu in
your chatroom > tap 'Block'
button.
② ‘Settings’ > ‘Friends’ > ‘Blocked
Users’ : Remove ‘LG HomeChat’.
