Town of LaGrange January 2015 Newsletter Minutes of the Regular Meeting, Town of LaGrange, Wyoming, meeting at the Town Hall on December 11th 2014 at 7:00pm. Present were Mayor Mark Marshall, Councilman Joel Tremain, John Beightol and Cameron McCoy. Town Clerk Cathy Stoddard, Public Works Director Tracy Pragnell and Attorney Ed Buchanan were also present. Councilman Mike Huseby was absent. Visitor attending was Christy Marshall. Mayor Marshall called the meeting to order at 7:07pm. John moved to approve the minutes as read. Joel seconded, motion carried. Mayor Marshall asked for old business. Tracy gave an update on the sewer project. He explained the new bid package has gone out to bid and new bids will be opened January 23rd 2015. Mayor Marshall tabled the third reading of Ordinance #59 An Ordinance relating to sewer bonds. Cameron moved to approve the third & final reading of Ordinance #60 An ordinance repealing town code title 5 and adopting the uniform act regulating traffic on highways. John seconded, motion carried. Cameron moved to approve the second reading of Ordinance #61 An ordinance repealing town code title 6. Joel seconded, motion carried. Mayor Marshall asked for new business. Town Code Book Title 7 will be discussed at the next scheduled council meeting. Clerk and Public Works questions were discussed. Joel moved to have the next regular town council meeting Thursday January 15th 2015 at 7pm. John seconded, motion carried. Joel moved to have a special meeting Tuesday January 27th at 7:30am for the purpose of bid discussion and possible approval. John seconded, motion carried. It was decided to send Tracy Pragnell to the Goshen County Facilities Planning Committee meetings. Joel moved to appoint Carol Lahr to the Lodging Tax Board, John seconded, motion carried. Cameron moved to pay the bills, Joel seconded, motion carried. John moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:24pm. Link your business to the world through our website. Reminder-Dog Tags Are Now Past Due Per Ordinance #31, Dog Tags Are Due January 1, 2015 Proof of rabies shots is required. Please get your animal to the vet, if needed, for their rabies shots before January 1st. A $25 fine will be charged to those who do not purchase dog tags. The current rate is $15.00 for any dog, spayed or not. If you own a dog in the city limits, be sure to stop by the Town Hall and purchase your dog tags before January 1st, NO EXCEPTIONS! A copy of the ordinance is available at the Town Hall. LaGrange Winter Community Ed Classes You can register and pay for any of the classes by calling LaGrange Town Hall at 307-834-2466 or Susie in Torrington at 307-532-8213. Please register at least one week in advance. This really helps in the organizing of the class. The center is available for use by any community member. You do not need to be enrolled in a college class. Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The Longhorn Café will be serving breakfast all day Thursday, January 1, 2015. They will serve from 7:00am to 2:00pm. Happy New Year! The American Legion Auxiliary would like to remind all college bound high school seniors from Southeast High School, or seniors who have ties to the LaGrange Community are eligible to apply for the Carolyn Laycock Memorial Scholarship Essay Contest, “Honor Our Veterans: Preserve Their Stories”. Guidelines and applications are available at the LaGrange Town Hall. Deadline for submitting your essay is January 30, 2015. Auxiliary Calendars The 2015 Auxiliary Calendars will be out soon! Look for them at Town Hall and at Longhorn Café. They are a great source for local business advertisement and local birthdays. Support the Auxiliary by purchasing one today! All veteran’s stories will be preserved in a history notebook, accessible to the public in the LaGrange-Bear Creek Community Library.
