programmes .ABES Engineering college is one of the most sought after among
professional colleges of Uttar Pradesh. The college has been associated with
NASSCOM and DRDO on projects oriented towards next generation technology
demands. The college provides an atmosphere that ensures academic excellence and
a platform to produce the best technical work-force for today's highly competitive
global environment. ABES-EC is committed for raising standards of technical and
professional education in India. Our objective is to produce the dynamic technocrats
& young entrepreneurs for the service of the nation for which we are developing
centre for self-employment at our premises in collaboration with MSME.
dedication to the communities.
The conference will have a great social impact in bringing in forefront the Govt. Of
India's initiative for building a National Optical Fiber network to connect all 2,50,000
Gram Panchayats of the country to provide high speed net and to increase India's
broadband penetration target of 600 million users by year 2020. The National Optical
Fiber Network which is being implemented will be the backbone of Govt's initiative of
“Digital India” which will provide high speed internet access to rural India.
National Conference on Broadband & Optical Fiber Technologies (NCBOFT) aims to
speed up the development by bringing the researchers, academicians & industry
personnel together to share their experiences. The emphasis shall be on
development & deployment of meaningful applications. The conference is being
organized by Department of Electronics & Communication, ABES Engineering
College, Ghaziabad with the technical support from the Institution of
Communication Engineers and Information Technologies (ICEIT).
Call For Papers (CFP)
About the Conference
The subject of Fiber-optics is of immense importance from the point of view of both
research and application for high speed data transmission. New possibilities are
emerging, which will bring a new revolution in the field of telecommunications, such
as coherent transmission, new transmission material transparent to mid-infrared
radiation, active fibers and soliton propagation.
We invite you to submit papers and also request you to disseminate this CFP to your
colleagues and communities. Research contributions are solicited in all areas
pertinent to the conference theme and including the following broad areas but not
restricting to.
Selected papers will be presented in the two day conference to be held at ABES
Engineering College, Ghaziabad on March 13-14, 2015.
Conference Theme
Fiber-optics is gaining importance in tactical missile and aircraft guidance and control.
The requirements for military guidance and control applications are highly
demanding for the characteristics of the fibers.
(a) Communication & Networking
Fiber infrastructure with WDM i.e. Wavelength Division Multiplexing “virtual fiber”
will prove a boost in broadband communication network. For example, converging
Layer 0 through Layer 2—with integrated Carrier Ethernet, multi-service optical, and
WDM functionality with high-capacity, 10Gbps and switched Ethernet service
infrastructure can be deployed along with existing SONET OC-48 infrastructure onto
the same fiber pair from a single platform.
Investing in packet-optical technologies is a key element to rapidly deliver new
services and provide a high-quality offering to the customers. Fiber Optic allows
greatly increasing network capacity and delivery of innovative services via a costeffective network with simplified operations, management and provisioning
capabilities. This translates to affordable services for the customers and confirms
Advanced Data Networks, MPLS-VPN, Internet Protocol IPV6, Gigabit Switching
routers, High Capacity SDH and DWDM systems, Passive Optical Networks – GPON,
GEPON etc,. Fiber to the home (FTTH) networks, Modern Era transmission
Technologies.
