For flat-head printers
AW1 is a wax quality ribbon developed for, and best suited to, general purpose label printing,
offering heat resistance up to 60ºC (140ºF). This product provides good, clear printed
images, text and barcodes on to a wide range of label stocks, from synthetics to paper –
uncoated papers particularly, and with a blackness above 2.1 (ODR). The back coating of
the AW1, as with all Toshiba approved ribbons, offers the best in printhead protection.

The AG2 is a multi-purpose wax resin product and is Toshiba’s most popular ribbon type
for near edge printers. Its highly versatile performance fulfills the needs of most standard
applications. It lays down a clear and sharp printed image on most label stocks, from

The AG4 is a super premium wax resin ribbon developed to perform in applications that
need extra mechanical resistance but at a much lower price than a full resin quality.
This ribbon is very versatile, performing well on most uncoated papers as well as glossy and
synthetic materials. It will withstand heat up to 110ºC (230ºF) and has a blackness of 1.6
(ODR). The AG4 is also available in metallic white. As with all Toshiba ribbon products its

The SG2 is a wax resin ribbon with a special ink formulation that gives crisp printed images.
It has an additional top coating and unique release layer which provide smudge and scratch
resistance beyond current industry standards.
The SG2 allows printing on to a wide range of label materials but is specifically designed

Resin - SS1
For flat-head printers
The SS1 is a general purpose pure resin ribbon developed in response to the most demanding
requirements of the pharmaceutical, chemical and automotive industries. The ink formula offers
very good levels of mechanical and solvent resistance and performs well on a wide range of
synthetic materials, producing sharp and clear printed images and barcodes.
Toshiba SS1 ribbons – An ideal choice for outdoor applications as it will withstand the
harshest extremes of weather conditions.
