The Harvey Public Library is seeking an energetic and capable leader to fill the position of Library Director in a city-funded library that serves the population of Harvey and the surrounding area. Salary: $30,000 to $35,000 based on qualifications and experience Benefits: Health insurance, pension plan, sick days, and vacation days Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED, library experience preferred General Responsibilities and Skills:  Supervise, lead, and motivate library staff members  Responsible for participating as a team member and supporting the Library Board policies and long range goals  Working knowledge of computers and ability to learn library circulation software (Aleph) and WordPress website interface  Work with State Library to catalog books  Possess strong customer service skills, the ability to resolve customer concerns, and manage disturbances and emergencies in the library  Ability to conduct reference interviews, analyze requests, and perform complex computer searches of databases and internet resources  Ability to communicate (hear and speak clearly) with staff, customers, and others.
