Kindergarten Parent & Child Futsal Clinic FC Greeley is pleased to offer our first annual Parent & Child Kindergarten Futsal Clinic. The clinic is offered on a first come, first served basis to current Kindergarten Students. (Also, I am looking for Volunteer Staff! Looks great on college resume!) This interactive clinic involves both parent and child to introduce both to the beautiful game. FC Greeley Staff will teach parents how to teach their child to dribble and shoot AND then help them in that instruction. This clinic is a fun time for all! SECONDARY VALENTINE CONCERT We invite you to our upcoming Security Parent Meeting on Wednesday, Jan 14th. As a Board we always look to actively engage our parents with current discussions. FEBRUARY 12, 2015 7:00 p.m. AUDITORIUM The Board elected a new secretary, Jeff Hare, to replace Sandy Chenore who is looking to step off the Board after 16 years. Thank you Sandy for your commitment and loyalty to Frontier Academy! Your leadership will be greatly missed. Our next meeting will be February 5th at 6:00 p.m. in the Elementary Library. All are welc ome! Elementary Dress Down Day – Friday, January 23rd - Dress down for $1 and help offset the costs for our elementary yearbook. This year, yearbooks will be HARDCOVER - and the cost will still be $20. The Elementary Student Council sponsored The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Pasta for Pennies. Students collected spare change to support the LLS’s mission: To cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The school raised $4,800! The classroom winners are…….. 1st Place – Mrs. Helm - Pasta and breadstick party from Olive Garden 2nd Place – Mrs. Bowness - Ice cream party 3rd Place – Mrs. Green-Gonzales & Mrs. Kozak - Ice cream party WAY TO GO FRONTIER STUDENTS! BRING IN THOSE BOX TOPS! Elementary Parents: PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF STUDENTS BEFORE 7:40 AM! The front fence gates (both buildings) will be locked until 7:40 a.m. daily. The West gate will be open for entrance into the cafeteria for students eating breakfast, students being dropped off for morning clubs (Art, Drama, etc.). Please note our staff does not go on duty until 7:40 AM. Our policy as stated in the Parent/Student Handbook is as follows (page 5): School officially starts at 8:00am and ends at 3:15pm. Students are not to be dropped off at the Academy prior to 7:40am when the staff goes on duty. Students will not be allowed to enter the building prior to 7:40am. TARDIES WILL BE GIVEN TO ALL STUDENTS ENTERING THE BUILDINGS AFTER 8:00 A.M. The Elementary School will be collecting Box Tops from now until Feb. 13th for the Box Tops Contest! Box Tops help raise money for our school. Each Box Top is worth $0.10. Box Tops are on multiple products that you buy every day (Ziplock, Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, General Mills, Hanes, Green Giant and many, many more). Just clip and send to school with your child. Last year, our school brought in over $2,100.00! Let’s make our goal $2,500.00 this year!! Parents, please log onto www.boxtops4education.com to check out how our school is doing, to find out how to help earn extra Box Tops and even compare our school to other schools. The class with the most Box Tops collected will win an Ice Cream Party!! Please remember to collect Box Tops throughout the year! Then either save them for your child’s next contest date or send them in anytime – collection bin in next to the Volunteer Sign-‐In computer in the K/3 building. Parents, The second Parent Academy will take place January 28th at 6:00 pm at Frontier Elementary. Although the sessions are optional, we feel that the information being provided in these sessions can help parents to feel more informed of the operation of the school and better equipped to help their students succeed. Parents - Watch your speed on 29th Street! Our Elementary traffic control partner, Union Colony Protective Services, will begin monitoring speed with radar guns. You can be ticketed! Also - USE THE CROSSWALKS in the parking lot. Please tell others who pick your children up. No exceptions! Children should not be dropped off in the actual parking lot. Please use the designated drop off lanes. Otherwise, please park and walk your children to the crosswalk. KEEP ORDERING SCRIP! The cost of a Valogram is $1.00 and money raised will go toward Elementary playground improvements. Please place your order form i n an envelop From the Elementary Health Office: Parents: If you have any extra reusable water bottles you would be willing to donate to the Health Office, it would be appreciated!!! with exact change and place it in the boxes located at the K-‐3 and 4-‐5 front offices. If your order is not in a sealed envelop we cannot guarantee that it will get to the right student. Valograms will be delivered the Friday before Valentine's Day. Valograms may not be eaten at school so need to be taken home with students Friday afternoon. T he last day to return an order form is Thursday, February 12th. The elementary CLOTHING BANK is very low on clothing! Remember if you have dress code clothing that your kids have outgrown and you would like to donate or swap out – please visit the Clothing Bank in our K/3 Foyer!
