TEN YEARS
have passed since we sold our first ‘Glaser’ tools. It all started when we wanted to buy a
Collinear Hoe, which we had read about in Eliot Coleman’s books The New Organic Grower
and Four Season Harvest, but no-one seemed to know where to find them in the UK. Thanks to The Real Seed
Catalogue, we contacted Glasers in Switzerland in 2004, and the rest, as they say, is history!
We made just 5 sales in our first 3 months trading, and only 31 in the following year, but our ‘homespun’
website gradually attracted some interest and sales have increased year on year, even when we were operating
the business from a narrowboat travelling the waterways of the UK!
Just as well that we were back on land by the time that Monty Don mentioned Soil Blockers on BBC
Gardeners World in April 2014! Sales for the next month exceeded the previous year’s figures and we (and the
manufacturers) have stayed busy as gardeners and growers have continued to try them out. Many have come
back for more and recommended them to friends. Thanks, Monty!
It’s not just Soil Blockers that get recommended. There is a steady flow of people who have heard about
Glaser Oscillating Hoes and want to try them out - and then come back to buy more for their friends and family.
We quite deliberately don’t sell ‘ordinary’ garden tools which you should be able to find in your local garden
centre. We feel that the tools we sell are “unique garden tools which really make a difference” and we stay
true to our original idea of trying to make it easy for people to find the tools that we needed to search high and
low to find. The Glaser range of quality Swiss-made tools is highly regarded in many gardening circles around
the world, and we have many overseas orders.
We don’t just sell tools - we are gardeners ourselves and are not interested in gimmicky gadgets which you
might use once and then forget. Look through these pages and you will see many tools that we use all the time.
Wheel Hoes: We have been using our old ‘Planet Junior’ since we found it in a Devon farm sale in the
mid-1990s. The Glaser models are based on this old classic, and the attachments fit, too! They also fit the ‘Jalo’.
The EarthWay Precision Seeder: It took us some searching to find ours in 1998! A brilliantly simple bit of kit!
A British-made ‘BroadFork’ – another idea from Eliot Coleman! Hand-crafted by Malcolm Johnson at
Newtimber Forge in Sussex, this sturdy tool helps to break up compacted soil without mixing up the layers!
We started importing Korean Ho-Mi in 2012. No frills, one-piece and hand-forged, these traditional peasant
tools were recommended to us by Australian friends and are proving popular in the UK. Later the same year, we
found a neat little stainless steel Spatula for handling the smallest Soil Blocks. Seed Spoons came and then
went very quickly, but now we have our own version - ‘OneSeeders’
We started by stocking only a few Glaser tools, but have gradually included most of the range as people have
asked for specific items. The latest additions are the 2 sizes of Glaser Aluminium Adjustable Rakes.
All prices include UK postage.
We have been delighted to find our sales reaching all over the world as people discover our website. Of course
we are happy to send tools overseas – the extra postage is often less than expected. Contact us for details.
Most people order online, but you are welcome to order by post if you prefer. Payment with your order,
please, and cheques payable to D.F.Taylor. Thank you. Sorry, but we can’t take payments over the
phone.
We value your feedback. Please let us have your comments, by letter, phone or email, or via comments on
our blog (see opposite).

Wheel hoes
Use:
The most efficient hand tool cultivation system for vegetable growers, home gardeners,
allotment gardeners, research gardeners, gardening schools, etc.
Description:
Wheel hoes fill the gap between hand hoes and motor driven hoes and are the most
efficient hand powered tools.
This cultivation and weeding system permits a high level of cultivation accuracy, great
speed and ease of operation. The excellent construction and solid design enable
gardeners to increase efficiency without any great effort.
All the wheel hoes have attachment points for:– the 3-tine cultivator, the hiller/furrower,
the seeder, the very popular oscillating stirrup hoes and the ingenious goosefoot hoes .
More details in the next few pages. WE USUALLY HAVE ALL 3 MODELS IN STOCK

Which Wheel Hoe Do I Want?
As these two diagrams show, the Model 500 and Model 600 are based on the same
‘chassis’, but with either one or two wheels. The 700 (diagram below) is a much lighter
implement.
Both the 500 and 600 will take
more than one attachment, which
can be fixed at either the central
forward position, one of the two
adjustable side positions, or one
of the three rear holes. More
than one attachment can be used
at the same time if required.
For most purposes, the 500 will
be the most suitable and adaptable, but the 600 has one particular advantage:– the two wheels
can straddle a seedling crop and
two stirrup hoes can be fitted with
sufficient gap between them so as to cultivate the soil either side of the row without
damaging the seedlings. The 500 is illustrated on the next page.
If, on the other hand, the priority is for precise work between
closely-spaced rows, the 700 may be the tool of choice. This
is much lighter and attachments can only be fitted in the centre
line. The 700 is illustrated after the 500.
Models 500 and 600 are supplied with an ‘offset extension
set’, which allows the handles to be offset to one side to avoid
walking on the newly-cultivated soil surface. A swivel joint is
available for the 700 (part no. 780) to achieve the same effect.
. . . and which attachment(s)?
Most people start with stirrup hoes. Think about the options
here:– 1) A single stirrup hoe, mounted in the central forward
slot. Simple and straightforward. All you need to do is choose
the width you want. Keep it narrower than the gap between
your rows! 2) Two stirrup hoes. Mounted side by side, they are effectively one wide hoe.
Used on their own, half that width. By mounting, say, one centrally and the other in a side
slot, you can achieve some adjustment to the cultivation width. 3) Two stirrup hoes with
offset joints allow perhaps a little more of this versatility. (Options 2) and 3) are very
limited with the Model 700, as it only has centre-line attachment points.)
After the stirrup hoes, you will probably want to try some other attachments, perhaps the
3-tine cultivator or one of the goosefoot hoes . . .

Wheel Hoe Models ‘Berg 500’ & ‘Berg 600’
The Models 500 and 600 shown two
pages earlier have a straight strut
between the handles (similar to a
version with wooden handles sold
in the USA), very like the old
‘Planet Junior’ hoe on which they
are based. The pictures here
show the Model 500 as made in
Switzerland and supplied by us,
complete with galvanised steel
tube handles – robust, light and
easily assembled and adjusted
with the spanners provided.
The hoe is supplied with a simple
‘offset extension set’, which allows
the handles to be offset to either
side to avoid walking on the newlycultivated soil surface.
Also
useful for raised beds.
The sectional handles make the hoe
easy to dismantle and pack away,
for example in the boot of a car.
Also shown here fitted to the wheel hoe is a
pair of 175mm (7”) stirrup hoes with offset
joints. These are not included in the price of
the basic hoe, but we offer this complete set
at a discounted price, substantially less than
the combined price of the individual items.
Similar offer for the Model 600 (2-wheeled
version). See our price list and website for
details of alternative ‘packages’, or contact us
for details.

Wheel Hoe Model ‘Pico 700’
The Model 700 is smaller and
lighter than the Model 500 on
the previous page, but it is just
as robust and capable of
really hard work in the garden,
though perhaps more suitable
for smaller-scale work than
the larger model. It has only
two attachment fixing points,
both in the centre line, shown
in the smaller picture below.
The handles are of galvanised
steel tube and, like the Model
500, are easily dismantled
and re-assembled.
A Swivel Joint is separately
available to allow the handles
to be easily offset to either side (usually in stock
but not illustrated).
The attachment shown is the 175mm (7”) stirrup
hoe (516/175), excellent for general hoeing and
weed suppression between rows of plants.
This is not included in the price of the basic hoe,
but we have a special offer of the hoe and this
attachment together, well below the combined list
prices. See our website and price list or contact
us for details of this and other ‘packages’.

Attachments for wheel hoes:
Stirrup hoes Nos. 515 - 523
Use:
These are universal oscillating stirrup blades for undercutting weeds, cultivating and soil
preparation before sowing.
Description:
The replaceable blade is sharpened on the two horizontal and all four vertical edges. The
horizontal part of the blade is unidirectional parallel to the ground and is 8 -10 times more
efficient than a standard hoe. The sharpened vertical edges make it possible to work very
close to cultivated plants without disturbing their growth.
Because the blade oscillates it is possible to quickly pull back and raise it about 2 cm and
pass over an obstacle like a thick root or stone.
We usually have a few of each size in stock

Use:
These are universal oscillating stirrup blades for undercutting weeds, cultivating and soil
preparation before sowing.
Description:
Identical to the oscillating blade no. 515 – 523, but with an offset oscillating joint. This joint
allows mounting 2 blades and simultaneously weeding 2 rows of plants.
Additional advantages of these blades with offset joints are being able to work along a wall
or fence or underneath a wire, or (with Model 600), straddling a row of seedlings.
In soft or sandy soil it is possible to mount two stirrup hoes offset to the wheel hoe for
working a maximum width of 70 cm.
The hoes are ‘handed’ and are usually sold (and used) in pairs, though priced individually.

Dutch hoe No. 434
Use:
A hand-hoe with a long pointed blade on the left or right hand side, making it possible to
work under plants with large leaves without damaging the leaves or the roots.
Description:
This hoe was developed by Dutch intensive vegetable growers for weeding where it is
impossible to work with mechanical tillers. The blade is similar to the Trapezoid Hoe, but
with one side tapering to a longer and finer point, seen in the picture below.
An additional advantage of this hoe is that the replaceable blade can be mounted with the
long point to left or right as required.

Oscillating hoe No. 404
Use:
For weed control in young seedling plantings and clean cultivation between narrowly
planted row crops.
Description:
An oscillating hoe is much more efficient than a standard hoe.
The blade of the oscillating hoe works parallel to the ground in an easy and efficient push
and pull motion replacing exhausting hoeing done with a standard hoe. Weeds are
undercut and weed seeds stay on the surface, not buried to germinate. The vertical edges
of the blade are sharpened so a clean cut is possible very close to young plants without
disturbing their growth. The blade of the oscillating hoe is easily replaceable.

Introducing Collinear Hoes
It was the search for Collinear Hoes that first brought us into contact with Glaser Tools,
and it was Eliot Coleman in The New Organic Grower and Four-Season Harvest who
first brought Collinear Hoes to our attention. They are quite unlike any other hoe, so a
few words of introduction may be appropriate. Let Eliot tell it his way . . .
“Dispatch weeds while they are small. Tiny, newly germinated weeds are the easiest to
deal with. A sharp hoe drawn shallowly through the soil between the crop rows will
quickly dispatch small weeds. That minimum effort yields a maximum benefit. It not
only cures the weed problem but also makes the garden look neat and cared for.
Because it looks nice, you will spend more quiet and relaxed time there keeping it that
way. This is not weeding, which is work, but rather cultivating. Cultivating is the gentle,
shallow stirring of the soil’s surface that uproots newly germinated weeds before they
become a problem.
“If a hoe is to be effective when “drawn shallowly through the soil”, that hoe must be
sharp; angled for drawing, not chopping; slim, so as not to bulldoze soil onto the
vegetable plants; and accurate, so as to pass between the crop rows without damage.
It must also be comfortable and fun to use, or you will find some other way to spend
your time. Years ago I could never find such a hoe, so I made my own. Let me explain
the process.
“I was after a draw hoe, not a chopping hoe. I wanted an efficiently designed tool, not a
crude bludgeon. I wanted a hoe I could use standing up (no back strain) and draw
towards me shallowly just under the soil’s surface. Since that meant I would be holding
it with my thumbs up the handle, as with a broom or leaf rake, I had to find the ideal
angle between the blade and the handle for a shallow, skimming action. Seventy
degrees turned out to be ideal. I made the blade as thin and narrow as possible so that
it would cut and skim without gouging and bulldozing. Since the blade was narrow, I
could put the cutting edge in line with the centre line of the hoe handle so that it could
be aimed accurately and cut weeds rather than crops. Finally, I sharpened it like a
razor so that the cutting edge was next to the soil. A sharp hoe enables you to work
shallowly and not disturb the roots of the crop plants. Voilà, the hoe of my dreams.
“Using a draw hoe with the proper angle and a thin, sharp blade is like dancing with a
skilled partner, and just as enjoyable. Hold it in a ballroom-dancing position, with your
thumbs upward. Stand comfortably with your back straight. The hoe blade draws
effortlessly through the soil of the growing areas. This is a very pleasant activity. Hoe
when weeds are very small, keeping the garden shallowly cultivated. Go out to the
garden on a summer’s evening, put a Strauss waltz on the stereo, and dance with your
hoe. Weed control has never been so civilized.” (Four-Season Harvest, pages 63-64)

Collinear Hoes with Replaceable Blades
Nos. 403/175 RE and 403/100 RE
Use:
A very light cultivating hoe suitable for weeding very small sensitive crops and for weed
control in well-prepared soil.
Description:
With the narrow razor-like blade of this tool weeds can be undercut with minimum effort.
There is almost no movement of the topsoil when using the hoe, so cut weeds dry out and
die and weed seeds stay on the surface, not buried to germinate.
The angle between the blade and the handle enables the operator to work in a
comfortable, upright position.
The hoe is light and the blade is easily replaced. Two blade sizes are available – 175 mm

There is almost no movement of the topsoil when using the hoe, so cut weeds dry out and
die and weed seeds stay on the surface, not buried to germinate.
The angle between the blade and the handle enables the operator to work in a
comfortable, upright position.
The hoe is light and the blade is not replaceable.

Wire Weeder No. 406T
Use:
This Weeder is specifically designed for delicate cultivation in greenhouse borders, where
the soil is already well cultivated but needs small-scale hoeing to remove seedling weeds,
etc. The Wire Weeder is used for hand cultivation of small areas, very much like a
Collinear Hoe on a smaller scale.
Description:
The blade is small and narrow and so fits easily between closely-planted rows. It is easily
sharpened with a small file as needed. A long or short handle can be fitted if required, but
many will find this unnecessary.

Bio cultivator No. 414
Use:
This cultivator is designed for deep aerating below the surface of hard, pressed, compact
and ‘capped’ soil, like the BroadFork or Biofork but on a much smaller scale. After
aerating, the soil is able to capture rain or irrigation water and the exchange of air will
work again. Crops will grow better and easier.
Description:
The tine of the cultivator is made from steel and shaped like a small plough to break up
lower soil layers. The thin curved shaft gives only little resistance and so makes minimal
disturbance to the soil surface while working.

4 - tine Tiller No. 448
Use:
The 4-tined tiller is one of the most versatile garden tools. It can be used for:
•
Loosening hard or compressed soil
•
Preparing the soil for sowing
•
Preparing and mixing fertile soil
•
Breaking and splitting hard clumps of soil
•
etc . . .
Description:
The tines of the 4-tined tiller are forged and thin. Wet soil won't stick to it like it does to the
blade of a hoe or spade. This 4-tined tiller can be used very early in spring when it is
impossible to work the soil with other tools. The angle between the tines and the ferrule
makes it suitable for use with either a short or long handle.

The BroadFork
Many gardeners and growers, especially those working on heavy soils,
face the difficulty of deeply compacted soil and want to loosen it without
bringing lower layers to the surface. On a field scale there are tractorbased solutions, but how to tackle the task in the smaller plot? The
BroadFork is designed to be at least part of the solution! (The Glaser
Biofork (187) and Bio cultivator (414) have the same objective.)
Here are some of the comments that Eliot Coleman makes in his book
The New Organic Grower:– “This two-handled deep tillage tool is
known by different names, but broadfork comes as close to describing
it as any other. Like most agricultural tools its genesis surely dates far
back in agricultural history. It consists of a 2-foot wide spading fork with
a 5-foot-long handle at either side of the fork. The teeth on the fork are
spaced 4 inches apart and are about 12 inches long . . . The tines are
designed with a parabolic shape and curve down from an attachment
point at the back of the crossbar. This difference is the key. The
parabolic curve . . . works with an easy, rolling motion. As the handles
are pulled down, the tines curve under and lift the soil easily.
“The broadfork is held with the handles tilted slightly forward of vertical.
It is pressed into the soil as far as possible by stepping on the crossbar,
then the two handles are pulled back towards the operator in an easy
rocking motion. The broadfork is then lifted from the loosened soil, the
operator steps backwards 6 inches, and the manoeuvre is repeated...
The tool is comfortable to use and makes the work
pleasant.”
Phil in Sussex (seen on the left) asked Malcolm
Johnson of Newtimber Forge to make a broadfork for
him and was so pleased with the result that he
suggested that Malcolm contact us to help him
market them. We are delighted to be able to offer a
genuinely hand-crafted British-made tool – thanks to
both Phil and Malcolm!
Phil points out that using the BroadFork doesn’t bring
weed seeds to the surface, and it is also very useful
for lifting carrots and other root crops!
The frame of the BroadFork is made from boxsection steel, and the tines are hand forged from high
tensile alloy steel, hardened and tempered to make
them as tough as possible. The upright sockets are
cross-drilled for bolts to retain the handles (bolts
supplied). We can supply 48-inch wooden handles,
or you can source them locally.

We were really glad to be able to add
the range of Ladbrooke Soil Blockers
to our catalogue in 2007, and now we
usually have the whole range in stock
for fast despatch. We used them
ourselves for many years, before we
started market gardening and long
before we began selling any tools.
Especially useful for the larger-scale
gardener, but all gardeners can
benefit from this simple plant-raising system. More details on our website,
or ask for our information sheet which includes suggested recipes for soil
blocking mixes (also available online via our website).
Micro 20
Mini 4
Mini 5
The Micro 20 Soil Blocker makes 20 x
20mm (¾”) blocks, ideal for single seed
sowing.
You can save space in the
propagator by using these small blocks,
and then you can move the young
seedlings, complete with their undisturbed
roots, into the 50mm (2”) blocks produced
by the Mini 4 Soil Blocker. An optional set
of 4 cube inserts can be fitted to the Mini
4, to give these blocks ‘made to measure’
spaces to accept transplanted seedlings in
Micro 20 blocks. Larger seeds can be
sown direct into these spaces, or by using
the 20mm long ‘dowel pins’ supplied. The
shorter standard ‘seed pins’ produce a
shallow indentation for smaller seeds. The
Mini 5 is very similar, but produces 5 x
38mm (1½”) blocks. Both sizes fit neatly
into standard seed trays.
Once seedlings have developed into young
plants in the Mini 4 or Mini 5 blocks, they
are usually ready to be planted out in the
greenhouse border or out of doors. The
Dagger Trowel or Plant Hand are ideal for
this. If you need to give the blocks more
time and soil space to develop before
planting out, the Maxi 1 Soil Blocker

produces single 100mm (4”) blocks ready
to accept Mini 4 blocks, as it comes fitted
with a 50mm (2”) cube insert. The Micro
20, Mini 4 & 5 and Maxi 1 are all suitable
for use at worktop height.
For the larger-scale gardener, the Multi 12
Soil Blocker produces 12 x 50mm (2”)
blocks, the Multi 20 makes 20 x 38mm
(1½”) blocks and the Multi 6 makes 6
blocks each 63mm (2½”) x 63mm x
75mm (3”). (These three blockers are used at floor level, with the operator
standing.) Cube inserts can be fitted to the Multi 12 to accept blocks produced by
the Micro 20 Soil Blocker. You will need to order 3 sets of cube inserts for the
Multi 12. Both Multi 12 & Multi 20 models are supplied with short and long seed
pins. The Multi 6 Blocker comes complete with
Maxi 1 cube inserts to accept Micro 20 blocks.
Ladbrooke Soil Blockers are made of robust
zinc-plated steel. Cube inserts, seed ‘pins’ and
the Micro 20 ‘grid’ are of durable plastic.
Once again, we got the idea of using soil blocks
from Eliot Coleman’s book The New Organic
Grower, and his chapter on soil blocks is highly
recommended reading.

The Dagger Trowel
Two models, in two widths:- 50 mm (2”) and 38 mm (1½”).
Use the 50 mm model (BL 01) for handling
Soil Blocks made with the Mini 4 or Multi 12
Soil Blockers and the 38 mm model (BL
02) for those produced with the Mini 5 or
Multi 20 Soil Blockers.
Such a simple tool, but a real labour-saver
when you are handling soil blocks! And it
has other uses, too . . .
The Dagger Trowel is another tool which
we found in Eliot Coleman’s book The New
Organic Grower. It was handy when we
were just starting out producing a few soil blocks with our first blocker (a Mini 4), but it
really demonstrated its usefulness as soon as we started using a Multi 12 to produce
tray after tray of 50 mm blocks. It makes the job of planting out soil blocks easy and
straightforward.
First, use the Dagger Trowel to make a planting hole in the soil. Hold it like a dagger so
that the trowel is vertical and draw it towards you in the soil – the hole will be just the
right size! Slip the Dagger Trowel under the individual soil block to lift it out of the tray
and place it in the hole. Then use it to firm the soil around the transplanted soil block.
We thought we were just going to use it to move soil blocks around, but found that it was
also excellent for other tasks:–
Planting potatoes, onion sets, shallots, garlic, etc. . .
Mixing small quantities of potting soils
Spot weeding, especially if you sharpen the edge. Like small-scale hoeing!
Cleaning soil off other tools (especially Oscillating Hoes and Stirrup Hoes).
Especially useful with our Devon clay loam!
– and it slips so easily into your back pocket!

The Micro Spatula
The Ideal Tool for moving Micro 20 Soil Blocks
We have always used a Dagger Trowel
to move the 2” / 50 mm soil blocks, but
the little Micro 20 Soil Blocks are much
smaller and can be tricky to handle.
Eliot Coleman recommends an artist’s
palette knife, but those can be
expensive so we tried using an oldfashioned kitchen knife and found that
it was just right for us. Unfortunately,
these can be hard to find.
So, we started looking for something that we could recommend to other soil block
users and found these Laboratory Spatulas. They could have been made to
measure! The ‘spade’ end measures 17 mm (about ⅔”) across. When Micro 20
blocks come out of the blocker, they measure exactly 17 mm across, though they
often spread a bit and we usually say that they are about 20 mm (¾”) wide. Either
way, the Spatula fits under the block neatly and you can lift it out of the tray without
disturbing its neighbours.
Easy, then, to fit the Micro block into the cubic hole in the top of a 50 mm block,
ready-made by fitting Cube Inserts into the Mini 4 or Multi 12 Blocker.
The Spatulas are made of Stainless Steel and are about 15 cm (6”) long overall,
with a spoon at the other end. They are supplied straight, but we have
experimented with putting a slight bend in ours, just next to the spade end, as it
seems to give us a better angle to slip under the blocks. You may want to try the
same!
So what about that spoon end? We are pretty sure that you will find a use for it!
For example, we usually plant larger seeds like beans and squashes directly into
a 50 mm block with a cubic hole in the top (designed to take a Micro 20 block) and
then fill round the seed with a little loose blocking mix. We have also tried adding
a little ‘Rootgrow’ (mycorrhizal fungi) as a potting-on experiment in 2014.
Looks like the spoon is going to be useful!

OneSeeders
For Sowing Small Seeds Singly
Sometimes it is important to sow seeds
singly or in small numbers, and the
task becomes more difficult as the
seeds get smaller!
Especially when sowing in seed trays
or Micro 20 Soil Blocks, you often need
a way of picking up single seeds and
placing them accurately. By using
OneSeeders, you can do this quickly,
easily and accurately.
OneSeeders are made from modified
plastic seed labels and come in a set
of 6 ‘spoon’ sizes in 6 distinctive
colours:- 0.5 mm (purple), 1.0 mm
(blue), 1.5 mm (green), 2.0 mm
(yellow), 2.5 mm (orange) and 3.0 mm
(red).
We got the idea from SeedSpoons of
Canada but they went out of
production soon after we started
selling them. We liked them and
so did some of our customers,
so we came up with our own
version - with an extended range
of sizes!
1) Pour out a quantity of seeds
into the palm of your hand.
2) Choose the spoon size that
will pick up one, two, or
several seeds at a time.
3) Dip the spoon into the pile
at an angle and lift out just
the right number of seeds
every time.
4) Hold the spoon over the
planting soil and turn it over
to deposit the seeds right
where you want them.
USING ONESEEDERS is just
like using SeedSpoons,
So these illustrations (showing
SeedSpoons) should give
you the right idea!
We hope to have some fresh
photos soon,
showing OneSeeders in use!

Simple peasant tools with a long pedigree, some say they originated in the Bronze Age! Solid but not
heavy, one-piece, hand-shaped and hand-forged, these are built to last for many years – just don’t
lend them to anyone; you may never see them again!
We are very happy to have these tools in our
catalogue, following strong recommendations from
the folks at Allsun Farm in Australia, who sell many
of the same tools as we do. We are also grateful
to them for some of these pictures.
The photo on the left gives you a good idea of the
size of the Large Ho-Mi and how it can be used to
draw a furrow. Its other uses are many, including
hoeing, planting and weeding – many gardeners say that it is the one tool
that they cannot do without!
There are two more models with handles, the Small Ho-Mi and the ‘Ambi’.
All the models are shown on the right.
The Small Ho-Mi is handy for use in smaller spaces, or perhaps for children
– definitely under supervision because of the sharp point!
The ‘Ambi’ Ho-mi is the new name for what we used to call the ‘Scraper’. Its
main feature is that it is the ambidextrous version of the Ho-Mi. Some
left-handed people find the Large or Small models a little difficult to use –
this one has points to both left and right! Useful for many different tasks,
whether you are left- or right-handed!
And, for those who want a Ho-Mi on a longer handle, we sell simple kits
consisting of a Large Ho-Mi or ‘Ambi’ blade and a copper ferrule, complete
with full instructions. You will need to buy a wooden handle (28 mm
diameter, 1.5 metres long) and some Araldite and
then fit the blade. Simple drilling and gluing
required. More information on our website.
