About CPD points
A number of professions within the property sector require members to obtain continuing professional development (CPD) points
under their membership terms and conditions.
There are two broad categories of CPD:
For the Professions (accounting, law, company directors, engineers, valuers, architects and others) who need to complete structured
(formal training) and unstructured (reading a relevant magazine, participating in a committee, presenting or mentoring) professional
development.
The professions allow members to identify their own professional development needs and count one hour of training for one point
of CPD.
All Property Council Academy courses accrue CPD points The Department of Fair Trading in NSW has approved Property Council
Academy courses as recognised training at the rate of two points per hour (hence one six hour Academy course will meet the year’s
requirements). Please check with your employer on how they administer CPD points prior to joining one of our programs.
For Real Estate Agents - Mandatory requirements are 12 points of CPD in NSW, 7 points of CPD in WA; in most other states it is
recommended.
