WHY TO CHOOSE CONCRETE SPACERS
WHY TO CHOOSE CONCRETE SPACERS
Plastic spacers and bar supports
Concrete spacers and bar supports
Plastic spacers and bar supports do not bond well with concrete.
Concrete spacers and bar supports are made of the same material
When the concrete is poured into the form, a small gap is created
as the poured concrete, so thermal expansion and contraction are
between it and the plastic. Plastic has a coefficient of thermal
equal. And because they are the same material, the concrete and
expansion and contraction 10 to 15 times that of concrete, and
spacers will bond. No gaps!
when subjected to temperature variations, the plastic continues to
expand and contract at that higher coefficient. At high temperatu-
Concrete spacers and bar supports help maintain material

integrity and uniformity of the concrete, and provide a cover
spacers and the poured concrete, creating a free passage for
over the reinforcement that protects against corrosion. Concrete
corrosive agents to reach the steel reinforcement from the
spacers can also be produced in the same mixture as the poured
exterior of the concrete product. This will cause the steel –

and eventually the concrete – to corrode.

MOCLIP® TRIO ® FOR REBAR SIZE Ø #2 – #5
The advantages of flat- and round-headed versions are combined in a single model called the Trio®. The Trio has the invisibility of the
round-headed model and at least the stability of a flat-headed model. Because of its three rounded feet it is more stable on rough
surfaces. The three rounded feet ensure that they are nearly invisible, the precision-engineered curves ensure that even high-density
concrete can flow under the Trio spacer to produce a smooth result. The Trio spacer is often used in the production of lining elements
and other round forms.

CONCRETE SPACERS
1.3 SPACERS WITH WIRE
These concrete spacers with wire are fixed on the rebar with a galvanized steel wire.
On request available with long wires (≥ 51/8 ”).
Tip: Place the spacers in a bucket of water before using. Wet spacers improve concrete bonding.
TRIO ® WITH WIRE
The advantages of flat- and round-headed versions are combined in a single model called “the Trio®.” The Trio has the invisibility of the round-headed model and at least the stability of a flat-headed model. Because of its three feet it is more stable on rough
surfaces. The three rounded feet ensure that they are nearly invisible, the precision-engineered curves ensure that even high-density
concrete can flow under the Trio spacer to produce a smooth result.

1.4 SPACERS FOR SELF CONSOLIDATING CONCRETE
The spacers in this assortment are made for use in self-consolidating concrete (SCC). Applicability and specifications are indicated
for each product.
MONOCLIP®
FOR REBAR SIZE Ø #2 – #5
The MoNoClip® is a patented innovation from Molenaar Betonindustrie B.V. The MoNoClip® is designed for Self-Compacting
Concrete (SCC). As the SCC is poured, the MoNoClip® lifts up through its unique trumpet shape with a round point on the formwork side. A thin layer of cement water can then flow under the MoNoClip® so that the MoNoClip® is completely covered. Your product
now has a perfectly smooth surface containing high-quality spacers. This ensures that your product is made with the highest standards.

The L-Type® II is nailed to the formwork through the hole in the lower part with a stainless steel nail. The rebar is placed on the upper
part of the spacer and secured with a tie wire through the tie wire hole. The distance between the nail and the reinforcement prevent a

construction concrete.
This makes the MoPlus® Center cone suitable for exposed concrete, as the MoPlus Center cone
is nearly invisible. The MoPlus® Center cone can also be produced with colored concrete. The
concrete increases the quality of the cone, making the cone suitable for durable projects. The
available working loads are 75kN and 90kN. These strengths are attainable only when the tie
rod has the same or higher working load and is screwed in completely, and when the tie bar
has not been spun. The size of the lost tie bar would be the wall size – 2 times the X size.
A filling cone for the hole is also available.

PLASTIC CONE
The plastic cone ensures the tie bar remains clean and reusable.
After removing the forms, the plastic cone can be punched out and the hole can be filled with a concrete cone, MoBikon or MoStopper.
THE ADVANTAGES OF THE PLASTIC CONE:
• Reusable
• S uitable for the Concrete cone D, MoBikon® and MoStopper®
• Easy to use
• Saves on labor costs
Please note: Usage of the correct plastic cone is crucial. Minor size variations in the plastic cone result in unacceptable deviations of the
hole for the concrete cone. For example, if the cone is too deep in the hole, it will stick out. Angle of inclination is 11°5.

MOBIKON ®
When a plastic cone is used (see plastic cone), the hole can be filled with MoBikon®.
The MoBikon® is placed in the hole in the wall so that it will stick out 1 or 2 cm, as it is oversized. Then the extended part can be
hammered in. The pressure of the surrounding concrete will cause the outside of the MoBikon® to collapse and the cork parts to be
compressed. The elasticity of the cork will expand the cone, which can then be permanently clamped. Protruding parts can simply be
broken off, if necessary, with a hammer. The MoBikon® is being used successfully in many construction sites. The MoBikon® must be
placed as soon as possible after removal from forms. Some release agents may have a negative effect on the hardening process.
THE ADVANTAGES OF THE MOBIKON:
• Maximum sealing
• Easy to use
• Fire resistant
• Minimum noise leakage
• Saves on labor costs
• No glue required
• Light weight
