Jerry was born in Emo, Ontario on December 15, 1951, he moved to Alberta in June of 1991 where he lived in Ft. Assiniboine before moving to the acreage in Lone Pine in September of 1994 and then to Mayerthorpe in December of 2014. Jerry leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Phyllis Angus of Emo, Ontario, his wife of 21 years, Connie of Mayerthorpe; two sons, Wesley and Jack also of Mayerhorpe, his daughter Christa (Cory White) of Barrhead and 1 grandson Waylon White. KASTELIC, AUDREY JEAN August 28, 1933 January 11, 2015 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Jean Kastelic of St. Albert, formerly of Sangudo, AB on January 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Albert of 62 years and children; Douglas (Bernadette), Don (friend Bernice), David (Mary Lou), Lori (Norm) Therrien, Lisa (Earl) Greenhough, Darin (Deana) and Leanne (Craig) Hodgman; 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition she leaves to mourn her brother-in-law, Albert Gratland, sisters; Helen (John) Forge and Elsie Unopolis; brothers; Leslie Anderson, Ernie (friend Elsie) Anderson and Leonard (Linda) Anderson. Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Aaron & Jenny Anderson, sister, Mae Gratland and nephew, Brian Gratland. Audrey’s life was dedicated to helping, always showing genuine concern and care for others. She touched everyone with her beautiful smile. She was a devoted wife, a special mother, a cherished grandmother and a friend to many. Her love of music and her special gift of art included many oil paintings that she donated to charity and gave to her family as precious gifts. Audrey had a special touch with gardening and her cooking was enjoyed by all. A dedicated member of her community, Audrey was always there to lend assistance. Her home was always open to family, friends and neighbors. As a devoted Catholic, she lived each day guided by her faith. MOENCH, GORDON KEN Mr. Gordon Ken Moench, late of Barrhead, AB and former long-time resident of Hand Hills, passed away on January 15, 2015 at the age of 86 years. Ken is survived by his daughters; Kerry (Louis) Storms of Rich Valley and Kathy (Kyle) Beebe of Duncan, OK, his grandson TJ and granddaughter, Kaylah, of Duncan, OK and his special daughters; Leanne (Jim) Sorenson and Shannon (Lance) Sambell. Ken is survived by his sisters; Velva Medd, Medicine Hat, Edna (Art) Hanke, Calgary, Mildred Ward, Calgary, Edie Christison, Lethbridge and sister-in-law Joyce Moench of Hanna as well as his many nephews, nieces and dear and very special friends. Ken was born on July 4, 1928 in Calgary, AB and raised on the farm in Hand Hills. He went to Elmer School and worked for many of the local farmers as a young man. He later joined Guy Moench’s seismic crews and worked hard to save to start his own farm. In 1960 Ken met Katherine Bish and they were married. They lived in the Hills and had a family of three children; Kerry, Kenneth (Red) and Kathy. In the early 90’s Ken and Katherine moved to Hanna where he continued to live until a year after Katherine’s death. After selling his house he moved to Rich Valley to live with Kerry and Louis. In the fall of 2012, Ken’s Parkinson’s disease forced him to move to Chateau Lac Ste Anne in Onoway and from there in 2013, to the Keir Care Centre in Barrhead where he resided until his passing. Through those years, Ken remained in touch with close friends in the Hanna, Craigmyle and Hand Hills area. Ken is predeceased by his wife Katherine, his son, Red (Ken), parents Ed and Katie; brother, Harold, nieces; Gloria and Pat and other dear family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Hand Hills Lake Club house.
