Behold Lord, an empty vessel that needs to be filled. My Lord, fill it. I am weak in the faith; strengthen me, I am cold in love; warm me and make me fervent, that my love may go out to my neighbor. I do not have a strong and firm faith; at times I doubt and am unable to trust You altogether. O Lord, help me. Strengthen my faith and trust in You. In You I have sealed the treasure of all I have. I am poor; You are rich and came to be merciful to the poor. I am a sinner; You are upright. With me, there is an abundance of sin; in You are the fullness of righteousness. Therefore, I will remain with You, of Whom I can receive, but to Whom I may not give. Amen Martin Luther www.trinitylowell.org January 2015 Baptisms On December 14th, Lillian Faith Sutor, daughter of Mark and Jessica Sutor, received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism in the 10:30am Divine Service. On December 28th, Jackx Daniel Henning, son of Isaac and Anna Henning, received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism in the 10:30am Divine Service. His sponsors were Stephen Berg and Andrea Merriman. If you would like to give flowers for the Altar in celebration of a special occasion or in memory of a loved one, please fill out the appropriate date. Ladies Aid The Ladies will meet on Thursday, January 8th at 1 pm in the basement of the Christian education building. (Note this is a week later due to the holiday) Pastor will continue with the study of Daniel chapter 9. All ladies of our congregation are invited to come to see what we do. You are also welcome to bring a friend. There is a bible study, a short devotion, our business meeting and light refreshments. Bingo at Wittenberg will be on Tuesday, January 13th at 2 pm. Volunteers are always needed to help the residents and anyone is welcome to attend. We do car pool. Those wishing to car pool are to meet at the church by 1 pm. If you would like to come or provide a couple of dozen cookies for refreshments, (home baked or store bought) contact Laurie Marx at 696-4614. The residents always look forward to our visit and it is always an enjoyable experience. Bethesda The Ladies Aid has decided to adopt our Bethesda Group home as a project and would like to open it to the entire congregation. Since government funding has been cut it is harder for them to make ends meet. Every month there will be a different item to purchase that the home needs and uses on a regular basis. There will be a basket in the narthex where you may put your items. A reminder of the monthly items will also be in the bulletin. For January we will be collecting Toilet Paper. For those of you who like to shop sales, here are the items for the next couple of months: February - Zip Loc Style Sandwich bags, March - Bath Towels. Please help us support this worthy cause. Church Directory Trinity will once again be updating our church directory. There will be master copies available during the month of January in the Narthex. Please take a minute to look over your information, including birthdays and anniversaries. If there is any information missing or if you have moved and we do not have your new address, please provide it on the copies. If everything is accurate, please put a check next to your name. We will print and distribute the new directories in February. Contribution Envelopes Contribution envelopes are available. Please pick up your new envelopes in the Narthex. If there is not a box of envelopes with your name on it, please contact the church secretary at 696-9338 or leave a note in the secretary’s mailbox in the Parish Hall. Contribution Statements If you would like a copy of your 2014 contribution statement, please address an envelope located on the table in the Narthex and place it in the box provided. The statements will be mailed out after January 1, 2014. Ladies Bible Study Ladies Bible Study will resume on Wednesday, January 7th at 10am in the basement of the Christian Education Building. Children’s Christmas Service Thank you to all who were involved with the Children’s Christmas Service. A huge thank you to all of the children. You did a great job and you “harked” beautifully. Miss Debbie—We couldn’t do it without you. God’s blessings to all and happy 2015! Miss Pam Thank You A special thank you to everyone who helped out with the Advent and Christmas services, decorated the church, and all others who volunteered their time during the holiday season. It is always a blessing to have the extra help.
