Jennifer’s Blog
Brrr, it’s COLD! I want to
go back to December when it
was so warm and dry! It is
only been a week of winter
weather as I write this and I
am already ready for Spring! I
have had the Flu so Christmas
was no fun. It turned into a
sinus infection so New Year’s
meant no fun or drinking!
Drugs are finally making me
sound like me again! I’m
ready for Spring! Can I say
that enough! I am ready for
Spring!
Speaking of Spring! Have
you signed up for our Spring
2015 Retreat? As I sit here I
have 1 room I have to fill! If
you want to come make sure
you decide quickly! If you do
not want to stay but want to
be a UFO’er I have approximately 10 spots left for that!
Register by February 1st! I
am in the food planning stage!
MMMM I can taste the food
already! If you have always
wanted to come to a retreat
make this the one! Contact me
by email or come in and visit
to register!
We have some awesome
classes for you this month.
We are keeping it light though
just in case Old Man Winter
gets grumpy in February.
Quilting 201 is back! Start
your year long journey (ok,
it’s more like 10 months) and
expand your quilting knowledge. One of the added benefits of this class is the friendships that develop by seeing
your new friends and quilting
and learning with them month
after month. Only want to
learn one or two concepts that
is ok too! Each segment does
build on the previous one, but
can be taken separately. If you
missed one from last year
make it up this year!
It’s February so let’s make a
heart placemat to decorate your
home or give to your favorite
valentine! Jane has a great
class that will get you a table
setting of 4 for your table! We
want to celebrate winter while
wishing it away with our
Snowman Door Hanger! This
one has been in Deb’s to do list
for years and now she’s going
to teach it to you! Register
quickly, I already have people
signing up even before I write
this newsletter!
Peggy has three great classes
this month. Some Oldies but
goodies, so if you wanted to
take these in the past and
did not. Do not miss out! Start Saving your selvages now for a selvage class! Want to do something wonky? Make a Wonky Churn Dash and
Shoo Fly Block into the quilt of your choice. Last
but not least for Peggy she will be once again
showing you the basic but timeless Disappearing 9
Patch! It is very rare that Peggy repeats so sign up
now!
For our Knitting ladies, have you always wanted to
know how to do Intarsia? In month 1 of two
months of technical knitting we are going to learn
how to make a small Intarsia Project. Make a coffee or tea cup/mug cozee for when you go get your
favorite pick me up! We will start small and learn
the concept and then we can dream bigger! Do not
forget Knit Klub!
Verna has an awesome Anita Goodesign Machine
Embroidery Club for you this month. Buy the Designs and you get the Club for free this month!
Let us know what type of things you want to learn
or make in club so we can entertain you and your
embroidery machine!
Last, but not least if you have started the Hoop
Sisters Machine Embroidery BOM with me then
our second month class will be on Monday, February 16th either in the afternoon or evening! I love
bank holidays so I can spend them with you! Still
want to sign up. We will have a new session starting in April! Bring your machines! We will work
on some of our blocks! I think I have forgotten to
explain my new class levels? I will do that next
month! I promise! Remember the one with the
most stash wins!

Quilting:
Quilting 201: Segment 1 This is
our second year for Quilting 201.
Same as last year Quilting 201 will
be split up into five 2 month segments. You can take one segment
or all five! In each two month class
you will learn a basic concept and
expand upon it. Each segment will
result in a small project. If you take
all 5 segments you will receive a
$20 gift card at the end of the final
segment! If you missed a segment
in 2014 now is a great time to make
up that segment when it repeats!
Segment 1: Segment 1 will focus
on expanding your skill set with the
9 patch. It will include a brief history of the block, a study of color
value and exploration of possible
quilt sets and incorporation of the
block into other blocks to stimulate
your creativity. This is a FOUR
week segment! When: Session 1:
