Eno Valley Swim and Racquet Club SHACK TALK February 2014 NEWSLETTER Tennis Update It's 2014....are you ready for tennis at Eno Valley? Before you know it the weather will be warm and tennis will be in season. For the adults, spring tennis leagues are starting to form. For more information you can contact Jeremy Wickersham or visit the USTA league website to join or form a team. For the young kids who hope to be the next Pete Sampras or Serena Williams, Phil Hill will be back working with our youth tennis program. Sign up information will be available on the Eno Valley website. Phil Hill also offers individual tennis lessons for adults and children. His contact information will be available at the pool and on the website. Social Events July 2012  Saturday, June 1st –Opening Day (12PM-4PM)  Beach Music by the pool with DJ Chigger Woods  Sunday, June 16th – Father’s Day (1PM-2PM)  Ice Cream Social  Saturday, June 21st – Adult Party (7PM-11PM)  Come relax and unwind poolside kid free for a few hours! Music provided by All King Entertainment  This will be a BYOB event!  Thursday, July 4th – Independence Day Celebration: a.k.a – “ Clay Day” (12PM-4PM)  An Assortment of fun games and activities throughout the day!  The Pirate Ship Waterslide will be back for all to enjoy More events to be announced throughout the summer! Summer Employment! For the older kids who are interested in teaching kids how to play tennis, we will offer the opportunity to help Phil teach the lessons to young kids . What a great opportunity for our older kids to teach the fundamentals of tennis to young kids. Interviews will be Saturday, March 1. Please see the website for application and details. Interviews for Eno Valley summer employment will be held in early March 2014, at the Clubhouse. Applicants must be at least 14 years of age by May 21, 2014. Lifeguard/Coaches should be lifeguard certified. Applications will be available on-site but please contact Brian Strickland at [email protected] for interview times or if you have questions. Introducing myself a little, I was a member of this pool as a child and re-joined several years ago with my family. I have 7 year old twins that are already asking "when is the pool going to open?". To find out pertinent information about pool hours, pool rules, happenings around the pool, etc, please visit our website: www.enoorcas.com Tennis courts are in need of repair. We are in the process of obtaining quotes for these repairs. Please bear with us until they are fixed. We, Board Members, are working hard to maintain a low budget, as we all know, economic times are hard, but we will not compromise pool value for our members. Board meetings are held the second Thursday of each month (except February). The board does not meet in July or December All members are welcome to attend.
