Holiday bungalow „GRÜNE AU“ is located on a rocky slope next to the
main building. Twenty-nine steps meander their way up a steep slope through
a natural forest to the plateau.
It is fully furnished and can accommodate up to ten people. There is a spacious
living area with an open fireplace, a cosy combined kitchen and living room,
two bedrooms on the ground floor, with a large bathroom with WC and shower with WC. Individual flyer available upon request.
Landscape of landscapes – created the Creator -, this is an often used description of the Salzkammergut. Crystal clear lakes, framed by majestic, high
mountains. St. Wolfgang i. Salzkammergut is located at the eastern shores
of Lake Wolfgang. It is one of Europe’s most popular areas, 45 km east of
Salzburg. Emperors, kings and heads of state have relaxed here from the
stress and frantic pace of everyday life.
„GRÜNE AU“ retreat is located in
the midst of this charming mountinous region. This facility enables you
to relax and enjoy yourself. Many
rooms offer a gorgeous view facing
the lake, the mountains and divers
nature.
It is important to us to allow for a
spiritual atmosphere. If you are searching for a period of relative calm
and a chance to relax, this area will
help you find rest for body, soul and
spirit. Our well maintained facility is open all year round, 365 days.
Especially suitable for Christian church groups, house groups, but also for families and individual guests as well as for all types of sportsmen and sportswomen.
Our facility is a self-catering retreat.
There is no smoking in house and
we prefer that alcohol should not
be consumed.
There are 15 rooms with 1 to 4
beds (a total of 36 beds) and 2
rooms with 10 additional beds in
the attic.
The lounge has will seat up to 45
people and the club/ children’s
room approx. 15.
There is also a common kitchen,
washing machine and dryer, ironing equipment, car park, table
tennis and trampoline.
The two holiday apartments in
the main house have 6 beds each.
The surrounding vicinity offers plenty of opportunities to relax: Water sports
and swimming are possible in the emerald green Lake Wolfgang.
Children can enjoy the Spielarena-Wolfgangsee (Play Arena of Lake Wolfgang) at the Bürgelstein. There is playground equipment, a climbing park,
skateboarding, beach and volley ball, badminton etc.
Horse-riding is offered by our neighbour Reiterhof Suassbauer.
The „GRÜNE AU” is an ideal starting
point for a cycling tour.
It is pleasant to come here during
„farmer`s autumn” while the trees
are changing colour and local events
are taking place.
October and September are the best
months for hiking and mountaineering. You can start directly from
our house. You can walk via the Vormauer (1.450 m, foto to the right)
to the Schafberg (1.783 m), where
you can enjoy a great view. You will
have a 360 degree panoramic view
up to the 3.000 m mountain peaks
of the majestic Alps. Seven lakes lie in front of you. You can also reach the top
of the Schafberg with its observation platform by taking a ride with Austria’s
oldest and steepest rack-and pinion-railway which has been in operation since
1893, or with the authentically restored „Kaiserzug” (Imperial Railway) with
its famous, historical steam engine
Z1.
Other formidable
mountain peaks
are the Wieslerhorn, 1.603 m,
the Zwölferhorn,
1.522 m, the
Hohe Dachstein,
3.004 m and many
others.
You can go on exciting day trips
l to Bad Ischl: to the Imperial Palace of Franz Josef I.;
l to Hallstatt: one of the world’s oldest sites of cultural interest,
UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the world’s oldest salt mine and ice and mammoth caves;
l to the charming city of Salzburg: the house where W. A. Mozart was born; or to Berchtesgaden and Obersalzberg with a museum displaying
the history of the NS dictatorship.
