This conference is expected to draw international participation both from industry and academia. It also embarks upon exploration of meaningful collaboration among the participants to achieve shared objectives. It is expected that the conference results constitute significant contribution to the updated knowledge in the field of chemistry. The department of chemistry, established in 1976 to impart chemistry teaching and learning, is known world over for her contribution in the field of research. The department is recipient of various academic and research grants such as COSIST, UGC-SAPDSA, DST-FIST and UGC-Centre for Advanced Studies (UGCCAS). ABOUT SHILLONG Shillong, popularly called as the Scotland of East, is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet (1,496 m) above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet (1,966 m), is a popular tourist destination. With the temperature 50-70 oF during the month of March, the city gifted with bountiful of scenic pine trees in the hilly terrain. Shillong is a great cocktail of cultures with coexistence of paradoxical worlds such as the folk and the westernized, virgin forests and car-choked streets, ancestral values and modern outlook. The abstract template can be downloaded by Log-In into symposium portal (nehu.reach2015.in) and must be uploaded into website itself. Maximum two–page abstract in the prescribed template may be submitted by January 10, 2015. TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IMPORTANT DATES Shillong Peak: A tourist spot 1965 m above sea level that offers a panoramic view of the scenic countryside and is the highest point in the state. Machumai cave: A cave in Sohra, 50 Km from Shillong, is by far the most accessible cave where tourist can explore without a guide. The cave has a spacious opening but it soon squeezed into a small neck. It provides the chilling adventure associated with cave-trekking, yet very safe. Sohra : It is one of the wettest places on earth with average annual rainfall 11777 mm. The journey to Sohra through the cloudcovered road and the sight of numerous water-falls can be indelible. HOW TO REACH NEHU is 20 KM away from Shillong Airport and 120 KM from from G B International Airport, Guwahati and Guwahati railway station.
