Gray and Lawrence Corey PERSPECTIVE 504 How the Current West African Ebola Virus Disease Epidemic Is Altering Views on the Need for Vaccines and Is Galvanizing a Global Effort to Field-Test Leading Candidate Vaccines Myron M. Levine, Milagritos Tapia, Adrian V. Hill, and Samba O. Sow On the cover: Live S. aureus binds to mature osteoclasts Mature osteoclasts were infected with S. aureus reference strain 8325-4 for 2 h at an MOI of 10:1. After infection, microscopic evaluation showed that S. aureus was able to adhere to mature osteoclasts. The actin cytoskeleton of the cells was counterstained with phalloidin (red), nuclei were stained with Hoechst (blue) and staphylococci were labelled with Vancomycin-bodipy (Invitrogen) (green) (See Trouillet-Assant et al, pp. 571–81).
