It’s time to…
Shake, Rattle & Roll!
Come on out and join us for a favorite program guaranteed to chase away the
winter blues! Shake, Rattle & Roll is an activity program
for parents and their children aged 2 – 5 years.
Join us most Friday mornings from 10:00 – 11:30 am beginning on
January 9 through to March 13 at the Friends Church gym.
This program is FREE: all equipment is provided and snack is supplied – but
please bring along a pair or indoor shoes or slippers! For safety reasons,
little ones not participating should be cared for by our child minders.

Stay & Play
Stay & Play is held on Thursdays, 10 – 11:45 am at the Carman Family Resource
Centre. This is the place for parents to meet and share, while children learn and
socialize through play! Snack is provided. Everyone welcome!

Family Literacy Day Event: Celebrating with Dr. Seuss!

It’s a new year to learn and play
Starting with Family Literacy Day!
It’s fun! It’s free!
Lots of books and more, I see Something for you and something for me!
There are puzzles, reading, coloring, and crafts
and pictures, papers, games and snacks
and other surprises
…like the Cat in the Hat!

**Please note: If school is cancelled in the division for weather or road conditions,
this event will also be cancelled.
Healthy Baby Program
Are you expecting a baby? Do you have a little one up to a year old? Join us
once a month at the Carman Mennonite Church from 10:00 am – Noon as we
gather speakers and parents together to learn and share! Enjoy a healthy snack,
and receive milk coupons if you are an expectant mother, or if your baby is under
6 months of age. Childcare is provided, and there is no cost to attend this
program. These are the dates and topics for the next two sessions:

Tuesday, February 24…...Postpartum Emotions

Family Gym Night
We are back after the holiday break with this weekly program that promotes active
and healthy lifestyles for families, and gives children an opportunity to have some
free gym time each week! Children must attend with a parent or caregiver.
Registration is not required – you are welcome to drop in!
Family Gym Night will be held every Thursday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 pm until
March 27, 2015 at the Carman Elementary School gym;
please enter by the west doors. Free to attend!
Indoor shoes or slippers are required for all participants, children and parents alike.

CREATIVE COOKING TO CUT COSTS!
Always a popular program, our monthly cooking
class gives parents the opportunity to learn and
share in the kitchen. Join our facilitator in cooking
up new recipes…and then enjoy a meal together with all participants and their
children! Next two class dates:
Tuesday, January 13th
Tuesday, February 10th
Classes are held at the Carman Mennonite Church, 10:00 am – 1:00pm.
All supplies are provided, and there is no cost to attend….but, class size is
limited. Registration is required for each class! For safety reasons, children are
not permitted in the kitchen. Childcare is provided. Thank you for your
cooperation! To register for any of the class dates, please call the Centre.

Don’t forget that we have a library of books and DVD resources that can be
borrowed for up to six weeks!
We are always in need of volunteers! If you are interested in child minding
for our programs starting in the fall, or joining or Board, please call Michelle

Please Note….
You are welcome at the Carman Family Resource Centre!
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
** As a general rule, we follow the Prairie Rose School Division calendar for
holidays and closures; if there is no school in the division, the Centre is also
closed.
** This is also true for cancellations due to weather or road conditions; listen to
the radio (CFAM, CJOB, CBC and others) or check the school division website for
cancellation notices.
** At the Centre, parents are always responsible for their children; please help us
maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone! Bring along indoor
footwear or slippers, remind your child to use indoor voices and not to run or climb,
and please keep your little ones out of the kitchen area.
** Finally, any hot beverages that you bring along are to be in covered travel mugs
for the children’s safety.
