Education and Information Sessions

VIC
MS education and information sessions are available in a variety of formats; face to face, via webinar and
teleconference. They are also available to family members and carers.
Teleconferences (by phone) allow you to join a session via telephone from any location.
Webinars, via the internet, can be accessed from home, your local library or any of our MS offices.
Recordings of some of our education programs are now available via the website www.ms.org.au
Program details outlined in this document are current at the time of printing; however, dates, times and venues may
change. Please check details when you register. All programs are free of charge, unless indicated.
Family members and friends are welcome to attend all programs. Interpreters are available upon request.
Please note that registration is essential as programs will only run if minimum numbers are achieved.

Learn About MS
This program provides accurate information about
multiple sclerosis. As a medical and research update it
is suitable to those recently diagnosed with multiple
sclerosis, their family members and friends, as well as
people who have lived with multiple sclerosis for some
time.
Live Well with MS
Explore what is required to be able to live well despite
having a chronic condition. Consideration is given to
medical management, exercise, nutrition, stress
management and other life areas, in a discussion with
the MS Nurses.
Working with MS
Explore managing multiple sclerosis in the workplace;
your rights and responsibilities at work, as well as
super, insurance and finance matters.

Medication Update
There are new medications available for multiple

Clinical Psychologist, Birgit O’Sheedy will explain ACT
(Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) as a way of

strategies to deal with difficult thoughts.
Thinking & Memory in MS
Find out how multiple sclerosis can affect your
thinking and your memory, and more importantly what
you can do to minimise the impact.
Exploring Respite Information Session
Find out about Respite – what’s available and how to
access both in home and residential respite
Sexuality & MS
No one likes to talk about it but multiple sclerosis can
have an impact on your sexual relationships, learn a
bit more, get some strategies and be encouraged to
