In the town of Bellevue, just south of Omaha,
Offutt Air Force Base continues to serve as the
headquarters of U.S. Strategic Command, the Air
Force Weather Agency and the 55th Wing of the Air
Combat Command. Neighboring Ashland is home
to the Strategic Air and Space Museum, a state-ofthe-art facility that houses an extensive collection of
aircraft, spacecraft and related artifacts.
College sports are a way of life in Nebraska. The
University of Nebraska Cornhuskers dominate the
Lincoln landscape every Saturday of the football
season. Known as the “Sea of Red,” Memorial
Stadium can accommodate more than 87,000 fans,
and holds the ongoing NCAA record for consecutive
sellouts (333 at the close of the 2013-14 season).
Every June, baseball enthusiasts from all over the
country descend upon Omaha for the College World
Series, the NCAA Division I championship baseball
tournament, held at the new TD Ameritrade Park.
Nature buffs and lovers of the outdoors will feel
right at home in Nebraska. The Keystone Trail takes
hikers and bikers on a 27-mile journey along the
meandering Little Papillion Creek. Countless nature
trails and bird watching areas can be found along
the Missouri river, as well.
Anglers will find several nice fishing spots within
a relatively short distance of town. Area Lakes are
home to healthy populations of bluegill, walleye,
large and smallmouth bass, northern pike, and more.
The surrounding recreation area offers hunting, tent
and RV sites, shooting and archery ranges, trails for
hiking, biking, horseback riding, snowmobiles, and
cross-country skiing.
Schilling Wildlife Area is a busy corridor for
waterfowl and migratory birds, serving as fertile
hunting ground for ducks and geese. The rich river
bottoms of southeast Nebraska are also rife with
deer. Langdon Bend and Kansas Bend Wildlife
Management Areas contain hundreds of acres of
bottomland row crops, hardwoods, open pasture,
deciduous timber, and marshy areas so you’re sure
to bag that elusive buck.
The Sandhills of Western Nebraska are a breathtaking drive highlighted by
dramatic sand dunes, rivers, marshes and pristine stretches of prairie and
farmland. The Nebraska Sandhills are among the largest dunes in America.
Chimney Rock National Historic Site, near Scottsbluff, rises some 300 feet,
and served as a landmark for travelers along the Oregon, California and
Mormon Trails.
The Sandhills are covered with cattle ranches – some as large as 500,000
acres. Raising and feeding beef cattle is the state’s single largest industry
with an annual impact of $12.1 billion. Nearly 5 million head are finished and
marketed in Nebraska, a state with a population of 1.8 million residents.
Texas markets a third more cattle than Nebraska, but it has a population of
25.6 million residents – over 14 times larger.

Dan has more than 20 years of experience as an estate
planning and tax attorney, and served as Chief Operating
Officer of a national attorney association. Dan started
Nebraska Real Estate Auctions, LLC in 2006, and the
company has since evolved into a full-service real estate
and brokerage firm as part of the United Country network.
Dan focuses on managing and expanding the statewide enterprise, and is
seeking real estate agents throughout Nebraska to join the Nebraska Realty &
Auctions team.
Dan and his wife Shelly have been married since 1976, and are the proud
parents and grandparents of six children and six grandchildren. They are also
affiliated with Redeemer Church in Omaha, as well as the Nebraska Children’s
Home Society as foster parents for special needs infants.

Doug is a Nebraska State Champion Auctioneer with over 40
years of experience selling personal property, livestock and
real estate. After graduating from the University Of Nebraska
School Of Agriculture, Doug spent 25 years managing a
Sandhills ranch. Doug’s family formed Panhandle Cattle
Company and started a Purebred Red Angus program in 1974, and he later
served as Auctioneer and Field Man for Intermountain Livestock in Oregon,
before returning to Nebraska to start Alliance Auction Service.
Doug joined forces with Dan Stuenzi in 2013, and the two now lead United
Country Nebraska Realty & Auctions. Doug’s experience as a cattleman and
rancher in western Nebraska has given him great appreciation for the business
pressures faced in the profession, as well as the rewarding lifestyle it provides.
