F U L T O N C O U N T Y E X P R E S S week of January 22-28, 2015 Page 11 POLICE REPORTS Gloversville Police Department • Jose Sanchez-Nieves, 32, of 51 Vanderveer St., Amsterdam, was arrested Monday, Jan. 12 and charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Police said SanchezNieves had a past arrest for petit larceny and failed to appear in court. A bench warrant was issued and he was located by police officers of the Amsterdam Police Department and arrested. He was arraigned and sent to the Fulton County Jail on $270 cash bail or $1,500 bond. • Tex A. Taylor, 47, of 34 Beaver St., was arrested Monday and charged with disorderly conduct. Police said an officer observed a male and a female involved in an argument outside of Rocky’s Tavern and when the officer began to interview Taylor, Taylor began to yell and swear at the Officer. Authorities said the officer advised Taylor to cease such actions which caused Taylor to yell louder causing a crowd from the bar to come outside. Taylor was arrested and issued an appearance ticket returnable on a later date. • Isaiah A. Allen, 20, of 224 Vandenburgh Point Road, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 18 and charged on an existing bench warrant. Police said an officer conducted a field interview on a man he had seen walking on Grand Street near Hamilton Street. A warrant check for Allen showed he had an active bench warrant out of the town of Glen for failing to pay a fine on a charge of promoting prison contraband, police said. He was turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. • Joseph R. Hoyt, 33, of 110 Francis St., was arrested Friday, Dec. 16 and charged with an open container violation. Police said Hoyt was observed by the arresting officer walking on Bleecker Street while holding an open can of beer in each hand. Hoyt was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Gloversville City Court. • Charles J. Police said Edwards had a past arrest for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failed to pay a fine of $230 after conviction. A bench warrant was issued and he turned himself in at the Gloversville Police Station where he was arrested. He was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail on $250 cash bail or $1,500 bond. • Marsha M. Smith, 32, of 108 Yale St., was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 17 and charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Police said Smith had a past arrest for vehicle and traffic violations and failed to pay a fine of $388. A bench warrant was issued and he was arrested by officers of the Johnstown Police Department for driving while intoxicated, police said. He was then turned over to officers of the Gloversville Police Department for the arrest of the bench warrant. Smith was arraigned and sent to the Fulton County Jail on $400 cash bail or $2,000 bond. • Austin T. Goebel, 18, of 69 E. Pine St., was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 18 and charged with second-degree menacing and third-degree attempted assault. Police said they were called to 69 East Pine Street for a domestic incident in progress. Upon arrival, police said, the incident was over but after interviewing those involved it was discovered that Goebel had a physical altercation with a relative. During the altercation police said he held a knife and threatened to kill the relative but the family member was not injured by the weapon and only minor contact occurred during the physical altercation. He was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail on $1,500 cash bail or $2,500 bond. • Anne M. Rodeo, 32, of 11 Burlington Ave., was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 18 and charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Police said Rodeo had a previous arrest for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and was convicted for that offense but didn't pay the fine. A bench warrant was issued and she was later located. Rodeo was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail on $350 cash or $2,500 bond. New York State Police • Joshua M. Ficili, 33, of Broadalbin, was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 4 and charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both felonies. Police said a trooper from the Malta barracks responded to a Lake Road residence in Galway for a stolen vehicle complaint. While the trooper was interviewing the complainant, police said, the complainant's vehicle returned to the driveway and Ficili exited the vehicle. Police said Ficili was known to the complainant and when he was confronted by the trooper and the complainant, he fled on foot but was captured after a brief foot chase and taken into custody. Ficili provided a breath sample blood alcohol content of .12 percent. He was arraigned in Malta court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail for lack of bail. • A state trooper from Mayfield arrested a 22-yearold man from Fort Johnson for driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said while on patrol on Route 30 in the Town of Perth the trooper observed a vehicle off the roadway. Upon interview of the operator, Joshua Jordan, authorities said they detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Jordan was placed under arrest for DWI and transported to Fonda where he was found to have a blood alcohol content of .13 percent. Jordan was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was processed without incident and issued tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Perth Court. Montgomery County Sheriff's Office • Two Gloversville men were arrested after deputies said they found marijuana in their possession following a traffic stop on Lepper Road in the town of Amsterdam. Darick C. Lathers, 25, 4 E. State St., was issued a traffic ticket and Lucas E . Goodsill, 25, 10 Curtis St., was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Lathers was reportedly driving the vehicle, and Goodsill was a passenger. Deputies, with the assistance of a K-9, discovered marijuana in a handbag placed in the passenger compartment of the car following the traffic stop, according to the report. Goodsill and Lathers are to appear in Amsterdam town court.
