NEW YORK TIMES TRAVEL SHOW ADDS MORE SPEAKERS, EXHIBITORS,
EXPERIENCES AND EXCLUSIVE GIVEAWAYS
U.S. D.O.S. Speaker Joins Panel on Travel to Cuba
NEW YORK, Jan. 21, 2015 – The New York Times Travel Show has added new speakers,
exhibitors, performances and special giveaways to its 2015 show, taking place Jan. 23 – 25 at the
Jacob K. Javits Center, including tourism opportunities in Cuba, South Africa and the United Arab
Emirates.
A member of the U.S. Department of State will speak publicly about new travel regulations and U.S.
– Cuba relations on Saturday, Jan. 24, at The New York Times Travel Show. U.S. D.O.S.
Coordinator for Cuban Affairs, Mark Wells, will participate in a panel on the outlook for travel to
Cuba, moderated by John McAuliff, Coordinator for Cuba-U.S. People to People Partnership, on
Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
This year’s Travel Show attendees will also be able to experience Etihad Airways’s The Residence,
the airline’s unique and bespoke first-class luxury suite designed for up to two guests traveling
together. The Residence by Etihad is the only three-room suite in the sky, and includes a living
room, separate bedroom, ensuite bathroom, butler service and chef-prepared gourmet meals on
demand.
The Travel Show begins Friday, Jan. 23, with a Trade Day open exclusively to travel professionals
and media, where attendees will enjoy direct access to executives and representatives for airlines,
cruises, hotels and tourism boards serving in-demand destinations around the world, in addition to
the Travel Show’s exhibition floor, press conferences, keynotes and an industry reception to network
with fellow travel industry experts.
Doors open to the general public Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Jan. 25, for two days of on-site
deals and offers, travel seminars, tips and honed insights from travel professionals at Meet the
Experts, family activities, stage performances, book signings by celebrated travel writers, and the

Travel Show’s Taste of the World culinary pavilion, which offers samples of global cuisines and
will host for the first time this year a “Kids Kitchen” for kids of all ages.
The new Kids Kitchen stage will feature special guests, including actor Reed Alexander of
Nickelodeon’s iCarly; Bill Yosses, former White House executive pastry chef and founder of
Kitchen Garden Laboratory; Chef Bobo (Robert Surles), executive chef and director of food
services at The Calhoun School and advisory board member at Spoons Across America; and
celebrity chef and best-selling author Candice Kumai.
