This year YANTRANAUKA gives you a prospect to gratify your speed craving and to sense the
experience, thrill, desire and zeal towards Boat Making. All you need to do is just device up with your boats
and contend against the best racers. Stay buoyant, stay swift and position above all as you contrive your
Boat through the challenging field. Come participate and satisfy your thirst for success with the coronet of
YANTRANAUKA. We wait for your arrival.

The boat should be without remote controlled with onboard battery.
The Maximum dimensions of the boat should be 30cm x 15cm (including rudder and propeller).
The maximum weight should be 1 Kg.
The boats hull must touch the surface of the water (i.e. you cannot build a hovercraft or
submarine).
Only onboard power supply is allowed, no external power supply is allowed. Voltage difference
between any two points on the boat should not exceed 12V.
The hull (the part which touches the water surface) should not be a readymade one.
There is no need for backward mechanism in the boat.
Boats cannot be constructed using readymade Lego kits or any readymade mechanism. Violating
this clause will lead to the disqualification of the team.
Judging criteria will be based on:
1. Time factor to cross 10 feet.
2. There will be elimination rounds, prior to main competition.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
•
The numbers of team members allowed are 2-4 (necessarily from the same college).
•
The time measured by the organizers will be final and will be used for scoring the teams. Time
measured by any contestant by any other means is not acceptable for scoring.
•
Once the boat enters the arena (into the water) the organizers are not responsible for any kind of
malfunction or damage to the boat.
All the participants should carry a valid id card of their respective institutions.
The ‘YANTRANAUKA’ event managers’ decision will be final.

Event -II
ARJUN: Technical Quiz Competition.
Did you know: Newton never formulated the equation for his famous second law F = ma, as we know it today?
Calling all budding technocrats! If you are confident with your tech trivia, this is your chance. If competition comes naturally
to you, if your brain is dying for some activity and if you seek thrill in do-or-die situations, we invite you to take part in the
ultimate brain-storming session and test your tech trivia, watch while teams battle it out on stage as questions and answers
fly back and forth with equal aplomb. Sounds daunting, doesn't it? But this is the level Tech Quiz has attained over the
years, with some of the best technical brains vying for top honours. You cannot afford to miss this if you like nothing better
than an entertaining and wholesome journey through the world of knowledge.
General rules:
Team Size:3 students per team
The quiz will be held in two rounds - both these rounds will be held back to back at Department of
Mechanical Engineering, YCCE during ARJUN 2015.

There will be a elimination round, with the top 6 teams getting to participate in the finals.
RULES FOR THE PRELIMINARY QUIZ/QUIZ FINALS
1. A team shall consist of 3 members from MGI Mechanical Engineering Students.
2. The Quiz will feature questions on Mechanical Engineering subjects like Thermal Engg, Production and
Design.
3. Oral Questions shall be asked during the preliminary Quiz competition.
4. The Quiz final will be held between the teams from previous elimination rounds on 11th Feb
2015.There would be audio and visual questions as well.
5. There will be a prelim to select the final teams.
6. There shall be negative marking in either the prelims or the finals.
7. A total of 6 teams shall qualify for the finals.
8. The preliminary rounds shall have 10 questions in all for the initial stage.
9. The final rounds will have 5 rounds.
10. The team that wins the finals shall be awarded a winner’s trophy. Teams standing second and third
shall also be given trophies. All participants shall be given participation certificates and mementoes as well.
11. The decision of the Quiz Master shall be Final.

CHALCHITRASANDESH: VIDEO CONTEST FOR STUDENTS
One person can change the future of seven billion.
In the mid of 2011, world population surpassed 7 billion and as a citizen of the earth, it’s important to
understand how we reached this milestone, analyze the impact of our choices, and realize that our decisions
can and will impact the future. The consequence which matters a most is waste created by the population.
Teachers and students alike can benefit from the resources from this event here.
STUDENTS
Wealth from the Waste. Make a video to share your thoughts and Social Awareness.
Win cash prizes by creating a short video on a global challenge of waste management. All MGI based
mechanical Engineering students are eligible to enter. Submission deadline: February 10, 2015.

You must enter your Submission online during the Contest Period. Time and eligibility of entry will be
determined by the jury in its sole discretion.
You may not participate in the creation of more than one Video, nor may you enter more than one
Submission, either on your own behalf or on behalf of any Team with which you are affiliated. Similarly,
no Team may create more than one Video or enter more than one Submission.
Your Video must be maximum (5) minutes or less in length (including opening and closing credits).
Your Video must be narrated in the English or Hindi language.
Your Video must not infringe any third party copyright or trademark, or violate the rights of any
person or entity. Make sure that you only use content in your Video that you are authorized to use,
including, without limitation, music, images, film clips and other intellectual property. If you use
preexisting content that you are not authorized to use, you are not eligible to enter this Contest and your
Submission will be disqualified
Your Video may not contain images or likenesses of any individuals who have not provided their
authorization to have their images or likenesses used for the purposes contemplated herein.
Your Video may not contain material that is obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic,
offensive, or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, gives rise to civil
liability, or violates any law (including, without limitation, the privacy or publicity rights of any
individual whose likeness appears in the Video). Videos must be appropriate for viewing by the general
public and by a multi-cultural international community is; appropriateness will be determined by the
jury in its sole discretion.
