For January, the deadline will be Tuesday, January 27th. The delivery date will be Tuesday, February 3rd from 4:30 - 5:30PM in the cafeteria. What are some of Peebles’ favorite Market Day products? Take a look at what some of our Market Day shoppers had to say. 1. “One of my favorite items from Market Day is the Soft Pretzel Sticks. A salt packet is included but I have served them both with and without salt. They are a great snack to serve when your kids have friends over, or when you are watching the Penguin games. I’ve served the pretzels with dipping cheese which always seems to be a big hit with the kids!” said Kim DiMarco. 2. “Chicken Patties — my kids love these . . . They are not spicy, they are not heavily breaded, and they are not greasy. The chicken patties are quick and easy to make. They can be for a sandwich or even a quick chicken parmesan. Also with it being a resealable bag, you can make as much as you want.” said the parent of a second grader. Save the Date for Our International Festival Next Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A The Peebles International Festival will be held on Friday, March 6th, 2015. Thank you for your continued cooperation with this FREE fundraising activity! Jump Rope for Heart On Monday, February 23rd, grades 1 through 5 will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart. Kindergarten will participate in a special event during their regular class time. This annual event teaches jump rope skills and the importance of physical activity and community service. The money raised will help fund lifesaving research for heart disease and stroke, the number one killers of children and adults. It also funds the development of education programs to teach our children the importance of staying fit, eating well and keeping a healthy heart. In addition, Peebles earns gift certificates for physical education equipment. Each student can set up their own web page at www.heart.org/jump to help raise funds from family and friends. It’s a great way to reach out to those who may not live nearby. More information will be provided in an upcoming Thursday E-blast. Kids Marathon Update This year our school has the opportunity for families to travel to the Kids Marathon race on Saturday, May 2nd from McKnight Elementary School at little or no cost as a bus will be provided. This transportation will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis! More information will be shared soon for those interested in taking the bus and not having to deal with the hassle of parking downtown on a busy day! NEWS FROM MR. JACKSON
