Geek the Library encourages the public to talk about what they “geek” – everyone is passionate about something – and the library has resources for them all. In January, patrons can play “I Geek Trivia” as part of the Geek the Library promotion. Patrons who answer a trivia question correctly win a button about whatever they “geek.” Times to spin the wheel are: Saturday, Jan. 10 from 3-3:30 p.m. in the Gallery of the Main Library Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 4:30-5 p.m. in the Teen Zone Thursday, Jan. 15 from 5:30-6 p.m. in the Main lobby Saturday, Jan. 17 from 12:30-1 p.m. in the Youth Room Thursday, Jan. 29 from 6-6:30 p.m. at Younkin Branch More information about Geek the Library can be found at: geekthelibrary.org. Geek the Library was created by OCLC, a nonprofit library cooperative. Younkin Branch Celebrates 15 Years The Ashville branch of the Pickaway County District Public Library was made possible by the work of local volunteers and the generous financial support of the family of the late Floyd E. Younkin. In December the Friends of the Library hosted a gathering to celebrate the 15th birthday of the Younkin Branch Library. Mrs. Irene Younkin matched the Friends’ 2014 fund-raising efforts with a gift of $6,000.
