Vessel Performance Analyst/Software Developer

As our new Vessel Performance Analyst/Software Developer, you will join our Performance
Management team. The Performance Management team is responsible for improving energy
efficiency on Clipper vessels as well as external customers’ vessels. The team works closely
together with external and internal customers, typically Operations and Technical Management
departments globally. We are expanding our Performance Management services, and you will be part of
this expansion.
A key product in our Performance Management services is COACH, a software system that analyzes the
hull, propeller and engine efficiencies and monitors the energy production onboard the vessels.
As a Vessel Performance Analyst/Software Developer, you will play an important role in the further
development of COACH.
Translating business requirements into value adding solutions
As a Vessel Performance Analyst/Software Developer, you will primarily:







Translate functional and business requirements into software specifications
Cooperate closely with our development team in Mumbai, India in the entire software
development process
Test new developments
Prepare ad hoc analysis for customers
Develop new numerical models to be incorporated in the software system
Take ownership of the numerical coding library, i.e. the COACH source code
Support the implementation process
However, as we are working in a dynamic environment new focus areas may emerge.
Marine engineer or naval architect with strong analytical and cooperation skills
The right candidate holds a master degree in mechanical engineering, mathematics or similar degree and
preferably with Marine technology knowledge. You may have experience within IT development but you
could also be a newly graduate with relevant student work experience.
In addition to this you:






Have excellent analytical skills
Adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
Are able to quickly troubleshoot problems
Have programming experience, preferably with C#
Have worked with numerical simulations, model testing, statistics and mathematical problems
Are proficient in English, as this is our corporate language
