The traditional JCI entry process has been by invitation; however, the James Cup Committee has made an exception for the 2016 tournament. All Can/Am participants will qualify to receive a priority entry for the 2016 JCI. The Can/Am Matches will be hosted by the Home Course (www.homecourse.com) of the Pacific Northwest Golf Association in DuPont, Washington. This ultimate team golfing experience will be played July 24-26, 2015. The field for the Can/Am Matches is limited to 20 players per team. (pictured below) in Miyazaki City, Japan. For the course map go to http://www.lakeside-gc.com/course/index.html, then click on the red hole numbers for a view of each hole. The dates for the JCI are April 12-15, 2016. Player Registration and the traditional Player’s Dinner will be held Tuesday evening the 12th. The Matches will be played Wednesday through Friday. Player/guest lodging and social events will be held at the Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort in Miyazaki City. The Sheraton will also serve as W.A.L.G. Headquarters. Nineteen teams from 13 states and the Virgin Islands participated. Linwood Hedgepeth of Evergreen, North Carolina and Junior Nance from Clarkton, North Carolina won the four day tournament with a score of 275. Wes Stevens from King, North Carolina and Robbie Venable from Pilot Mountain, North Carolina finished three strokes back with a 278 total. First Flight winners were Marcus Rising of Evergreen, North Carolina and Joey Schultz from Whiteville, North Carolina. Upcoming Championships: The 2016 WALG (24th) Championship will be played in Miyazaki, Japan, April 18, 19, 21 and 22. Miyazaki is located on Japan's southernmost island of Kyusk. The courses will be the Phoenix C.C., Miyazaki C.C., UMK C.C. and Aoshima G.C. Headquarters for the event will be the Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort. Under the direction of Tom, his lovely wife Mie, and NALG-Japan, the 24th WALG should be at the top of every lefty’s list to attend. Full details and the entry form will be available in 2015. The 2017 WALG Championship is set for Melbourne, Australia in either October or November. The 2019 WALG Championship has been awarded to Germany and will be played in July. Other International News NALG-France has invited NALG-USA members to participate in their 11th National Championship set for 2-9 May 2015 in Majorca, Spain.
