Warley Deanery’s Pilgrimage to Birmingham Cathedral
St Phillips Cathedral celebrates the 300th anniversary of its
construction this year and is marking this with a series of special events.
On Saturday February 7 all eleven churches of the Warley
Deanery including our three of the United Benefice and the
Bishop of Birmingham will all be making a special pilgrimage
to St Philips where we will enjoy and time of worship and
fellowship. There will be a time of worship; a chance to meet,
chat and share food with one another; opportunity to discover more about the cathedral and its celebrations; and of
course, the pleasure in hearing Bishop David speak. Each
deanery will have a particular theme and ours will be ‘The
Black Country’. So if you have anything Black Country related,
please bring it but it really doesn’t matter if you do not.
It should be a great day and we encourage everyone to go if at
all possible. We will be aiming to arrive at the cathedral for
12.00pm and the celebration should last until about 2.00pm.
Some us I think will go by car and may be able to offer a few
spaces but the train from Langley Green is easy and Snow Hill
is just across the road from the Cathedral. Please indicate on
the sign up sheet how you will be getting there. If you would
like to come along. Please look out for the sign-up sheet at
the entrance of each of the churches.
