News and Upcoming Events:
A Message from President Elect 2015, Scott Henrichsen: I want to start off by wishing
everyone a Happy New Year and best wishes to you and yours in 2015. I also want to thank the
Omaha Agri-Business Club Board for giving me the opportunity to lead the organization in 2015 as
President. I am honored to have this opportunity and plan to continue the good work by past
President, Brent Pohlman, and past President’s before him. On behalf of the entire organization, I
want to take a moment to thank Brent for his services last year as President.
Our 2015 goals continue to be allowing individuals interested in the region’s agriculture to meet,
network and socialize together at our monthly luncheons. We would like to continue to grow in order
to support the agricultural groups in Nebraska and raise Ag awareness throughout the Midwest.
In 2015, we are lining up a power packed group of speakers, starting with Dr. Connie Reimers – Hild
from the Kimmel Education and Research Center in Nebraska City. Our year will be highlighted by
Mr. Mike Johanns as our keynote speaker at our banquet in March. More details about our upcoming
speakers will be available in the newsletters to come.
Thank you for your support and continued membership.
A Message from 2014 President, Brent Pohlman: Thank you for your support in 2014! The
Omaha Agri-Business Club is a unique group of professionals from a wide array of professions. It was
really exciting to see so many new faces and familiar faces at each meeting. 2015 looks to be a great
year of speakers and I look forward to staying involved and continuing to support such a great group
of people. Thanks, again, for letting me serve the group as your President in 2014.
Looking Back: December 15, 2014 – Thank you to all of you who attended last month’s
meeting. Alan Stephens gave an excellent presentation on The Maschhoffs, the largest family owned
pig production company in the US. He discussed their expansion and opportunities for local farmers in
their “Production Partner” model to build, own, and manage their own facilities that the Maschhoffs
provide and feed pigs for. We also had holiday drawing and a lot of our members received a lot of nice
gifts. A big thank you to those who donated gifts for our drawings!
OAB Ag Leadership Award Nominations: Attached to your email with our newsletter this
month is a nomination form for our Ag Leadership Award that we give out at our banquet in March.
Please take some time to think about someone you may want to nominate for this award and send
the filled out form to Jerry Warner at [email protected] or mail it to him at the address
