ALMOND FESTIVAL WALK – RIPON, CA

Information: A Volksmarch is a non-competitive walk along a
pre-marked route. You may walk, jog, or run, as you desire.
It is an excellent recreational and educational experience for
the entire family. Enjoy the scenery and fresh air.
IVV/AVA Sanction: The event in this brochure has been
sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association (AVA), a
member of the International Federation of Popular Sports
(IVV) and counts toward the acquisition of IVV achievement
awards. This event will take place regardless of weather.
Eligibility: This event is open to everyone regardless of age.
An adult must accompany and sign for a minor. Registrants
will receive AVV/IVV credit.
Procedures: Register by filling out a start card waiver at the
start point. All participants must carry a start card. Return the
start card at the completion of the walk.

Fees: IVV Event and Distance Credit only is $3.00. IVV
Event Credit may be used only once. If you wish additional
distance credit, you may do the walk twice on the same start
card Checks should be made payable to Delta Tule Trekkers.
Stipulation: With registration for this walk, the participants
accept the guidelines for AVA Volkssport events and agree to
observe the principles of good sportsmanship. Littering is
prohibited.

sponsors to make this a safe, enjoyable and memorable walk.
There is no pre-registration for this event. No refunds will be
given for those starting and not completing the walk.

DESCRIPTION: Registration will be at the Ripon Recreation
Area parking lot. We’ll follow the parade route (parade Sat.
only) through town and some residential areas. Then we’ll
walk along paved, dirt and gravel trails through the woods and
along the river to the pedestrian bridge between San Joaquin
County and Stanislaus County. After the walk you may wish to
go to Ripon Mistlin Park for Ripon’s Annual Almond Blossom
Festival, or go to the many restaurants in town for lunch or
dinner.
MISCELLANEOUS: Water and restrooms at the start and
along the route. Wheelchairs and strollers advised to do 5K.
Dogs are welcome (on leash with clean-up).

DIRECTIONS to walk start: Follow Hwy. 99 South of
Stockton to Ripon, exit #236, Main St. Turn left on 2nd St.,
over the freeway & railroad tracks to E. Main St. Left on E.
Main St. and immediately turn right on Parallel Ave. to end at
Reynolds Dr. and Ripon Recreation Area parking lot. Parking
also available on the street. Exit Look for AVA Walk sign.
