SHG Families – You are still able to donate to the St Martin Depores City Tournament Food
Drive. Either cash or food donations are accepted! If you would like to drop the donations off at
SHG we will take them down to the convention center for you. Every dollar collected by all the
schools and donations at the convention center will be added together and HyVee will match the
total collected to donate to St Martins. Please join us in helping support our community!
Student volunteers are needed to help set up on Sunday after 5 pm for Monday's all-school mass in
the gym. Service hours will be given. Please see Mr. Seck or Sr. Linda Mary at lunch or before you
leave school today if you can help.
Help is needed on Wednesdays for Mostaccioli collection - Are you available on
Wednesday afternoons beginning at 4th period (10:45 a.m.)? If so, the Advancement Office could use
your help in recording and counting student mostaccioli returns. Please contact JoAnne Ashcraft, in
the Advancement Office, at 787-9732 or [email protected]. The first mostaccioli collection will
be January 28. Thank You!
Attention Students!! – PLEASE be careful crossing the streets before and after school. Students
walking from the West Campus lot, cross the road at the crosswalk ONLY and only cross when it
says Walk. Be aware of your surrounding and look out for each other. Thank you for your
cooperation.
Cyclone Hockey - Come out and support your SHG Ice Hockey team at 8: 30 Tonight as they
battle Bloomington for first place in the Lincoln Land High School Hockey league. The puck drops
at 8:30 p.m. on Friday at the Nelson Center.
FCA will meeting this Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
CAC will be meeting this Sunday at 5 p.m. You do not need to be involved in a sport and all are
welcome to attend. Pizza and refreshments will be provided.
Academic Team - Both JV and Varsity should check your e-mail regarding a team party to be held
on Feb. 6.
Poetry Out Loud – Participants should plan on participating in a short workshop to be held in the
auditorium on Tuesday, January 27, from 3:10-4:00 pm.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY required parent/student meeting is Monday, January 26 at 6 pm in
the Choral Room. Costume measurements, scripts and music will be distributed at the meeting. We
will need parent volunteers to make the production a success. See Mr. Bauser with questions.
The Freshman Class Council will hold a brief informational meeting in Ms. Collins room 182
on Friday January 23rd. It is mandatory for all members to attend.
Applications to attend the March 3-6 Girls Kairos are available from Campus Ministry. This
Kairos is open to the rest of the Senior girls and on a first come basis for Junior girls.

A junior or senior SHG student is needed to tutor an eighth grade student in Algebra 2-3 times a
week. This may done for service hours or as a paid position. Please see the flyer available in the

Program at McClernand Elementary starting Feb. 2nd. Please see the flyer available in the commons
during lunch for more information.

Congratulations to Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, and our community for earning a Do
What’s Right! State Final Sportsmanship Banner at the Fall 2014 Football State Finals. We have
set a high standard for other schools to follow during regular season and post season play. Keep up
the good work!

Jeans Day! Tomorrow, Friday, January 23rd will be a jeans day. All jeans day rules apply although
there is an exception to the rules – This jeans day you will be allowed to wear sweatpants, wind
pants and flannel pants! We still encourage you to show off your school spirit and wear your black &
gold and SHG items! The cost for this jeans day will be $2 and will be going to the food drive.
Boys City Tournament Tickets - Tickets are on sale Today and Tomorrow. They will be sold
from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All Tickets are $5.00 in advance. Tickets at the door will be $6.00. Thank

Its Mostaccioli Time!! - Today marks the Kick-Off for the 56th Annual Mostaccioli Dinner that
will be held on Sunday, March 1st! Today, students will be given a packet, containing four (4) raffle
books and six (6) adult dinner tickets in their 4th hour classes. 2015 Ticket Prices: Adult: $10.00,
Child: $5.00, & Raffle Book: $10.00. Thank you in advance to all who plan to sell tickets this year
and thank you to all who support the Sacred Heart Griffin Mostaccioli Dinner!

Thank You! - The Fashion classes would like to thank all of the students, teachers, and staff that
were *SEW* generous during our bake sale!! We truly appreciate all of your support!
Congratulations to the cast of THE ADDAMS FAMILY! The final cast list will be posted after
school Today in DH. There will be rehearsal tonight from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. for all principal
characters. See Mr. Bauser with questions.
Snowball Lost & Found – Please see Ms. Pachlhofer if you are missing anything!

Come Pray Together - Join the SHG Community in praying the Rosary each Wednesday at 7:20
a.m. in the chapel. There are so many needs for which to pray: peace, the sick and suffering, the
homeless, especially those right here in Springfield, and for us at SHG that we may be faithful to
following Christ in all that we do. All are welcome! Please come when you can.
SHG ON-LINE AUCTION IS BACK AGAIN! - The on-line auction has been such a
success over the last two years that we are going to hold it again this year beginning
on Wed., March 18 and closing at 3 p.m. on Fri., March 27. You can bid on some great items:
Prime graduation seats, prime parking spots, dinners, spa packages, art, food, jewelry, various tickets
and many other great items, all from the comfort of your own home!
You will be hearing more about this in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, we are inviting
everyone to get creative and think about something you might be able to contribute to the auction!
We would like this auction to have something for everyone. If you have an item(s) to contribute,
please call or e-mail Jennifer Bettis at 787-9732 or [email protected]. The proceeds of the online auction will go towards the operating budget.Thank you!

some tasty treats and a chance to stay warm wrapped up in your cyclone colors!
