Nastran Load Set Improvements
Dedicated temperature set definition now added to the Nastran analysis set
boundary conditions
• Load set IDs now maintained when bulk data files are cycled in and out
• Currently supported in SOLs 101, 103, 105, 106 – others to follow
• Previously you needed to manually add the temperature loads to the Femap
Load Combination or one of its referenced sets. Femap would then create a
synthetic temperature set making it possible to maintain set IDs.

Nastran Load Set Improvements
Improved SPCD load import with LOAD input entities
• SPCD loads are read into a synthetic Femap load set and labeled as such
• Structural loads are read into their respective sets and combined via the
Femap LOAD combination
• The synthetic SPCD set is also added as a referenced set in the Femap LOAD
combination
• LOAD entity ID is in addition to referenced structural load set IDs are
maintained

Geometry
• Geometry / Copy, Scale, Rotate, and Reflect commands enhanced to properly
copy and transform geometric loads with the new geometry
• Model / Copy, Scale, Rotate, and Reflect commands similarly enhanced to
properly work with non-rectangular load coordinate systems
• Geometry / Copy, Scale, Rotate, and Reflect enhanced to properly copy
geometric constraints that either reference DOFs in a specific coordinate
system, or that allow sliding along a specified direction

Jacobian element quality check updated for pyramid elements:
• 0.0 (ideal) to 1.0 (poor)
• 2.0 indicates the element has failed the Jacobian check

Geometry Measure and Load Expansion
• Measure Between Geometry command expanded to support basic Femap
curves – previously just Solid curves were supported
• Sheet solid determination methodology updated
• Load expansion times for large models with many non-manifold surfaces and
equation based pressure loads reduced from hours to seconds
