A Non-profit association
Thank you all,
2014 was an exceptional year for SPACE with
the successful launch of the GIFAS project
"Performances
Industrielles'
("Industrial
Performance"), but also with a confirmed
development of our projects in Germany and a
strong start in Spain.
It was a year full of new experiences ( SPACE
staff multiplied by 3, new premises and high-level project
management) that have made us stronger and ready for the
challenges of tomorrow.
This growth was achieved by a highly motivated team and would
not have been possible without your trust and active support.
We are committed in 2015 to do more and better in improving
the industrial performance of the entire European Aerospace
supply chain .
My best wishes for happiness and success in the coming year
2015.
François Bertrand

41 people responded to the survey, more than half of them
Spanish.
You are mainly interested in: information on training, active
members, the services offered by SPACE, news and current
affairs.
You are unanimous in wishing: more regular updates, particularly on projects but also on the involvement of businesses in
their efforts to improve.
You would like: the site to be more convenient and user-friendly,
allowing downloading of tools, and a place for dialogue for both
members and experts.

SPACE DEPLYMENT
We welcome our new associate member Ohnhäuser GmbH.
Improvement project status:
The project with 3D ICOM has been completed with very good improvements in all work streams. 3D ICOM
will continue with all measures and deploy them widely throughout the company. With this project SPACE has
established a very good reference in Germany!
Four improvement projects are still running and on track.

SPACE N°27 (January 2015)
"Performances Industrielles" PROJECT
COLLECTIVE PROJECT
("Industrial Performance")
Where do we stand one year after the launch?
Eric Fanio, Project Manager at SPACE for "Performances
Industrielles":
"Today we have more than 200 SMEs committed to the
project (out of the 400 planned) as well as 34 prime
contractors. We are able to measure the first lot of
promising performance improvements (delays, quality
and lateness) in connection with the actions deployed.
The level of commitment of both cluster heads and SMEs reported
by SPACE facilitators and consultants is remarkable.
I want to thank all those who have helped to achieve this initial result. "
December 2014: 34 clusters 202 SMEs
What are the goals for 2015?
"We are in line with expectations, but with Jean Michel Poulier,
project head for GIFAS, Christophe Cabaret, SPACE director, and
members of the GIFAS steering committee for the project, we all
agree that at this stage nothing should be taken for granted and that
the challenge is still to come. In 2015 we will need to maintain a rampup similar to this years and will want confirmation that the qualitative
results in terms of performance improvements and industrial maturity
are in line with our forecasts.
Space control room in Toulouse Blagnac
Because this is the major challenge of this project for the
aerospace industry: to benefit from a more effective supply chain, more qualified, more efficient and
able to accompany its vigorous growth, now and in the future. This is my wish for the success of the project
in 2015." Eric Fanio

COLLECTIVE
PROJECT
Dinamic Aero
A collaborative project in the Pays de Loire region.
The Airbus cluster of 7 SMEs held its final
meeting on 12 December.
Nantes
A special feature of this 5th cluster is that
all SMEs are jig & tools suppliers. This
represents a first for SPACE and thanks to
both consultants and SMEs, everyone has
made significant changes in their organisation in order to improve
performance.
An overview of the results achieved by the 5 clusters will be
shown in the next newsletter.

2013 2014
Expert day in Toulouse on 2nd
December 2014 hosted 11 attendees.
In a friendly atmosphere we first shared
general information about SPACE, in
particular the latest developments in
Spain and Germany. Eric Fanio then
presented to the team the “Performances
Industrielles” project status and first
trends. We also benefited from a
presentation on Demand-Driven MRP
given by Olivier Carré, SPACE senior
expert from Safran. This generated lively
debates, finally providing us with some
keys to understanding future Supply
Chain challenges.
