Congratulations to our Boys Varsity Soccer team who won the district finals against Haines City last
Friday night! WAY TO GO, BOLTS!! They will play Ft. Pierce HS tonight at 7 p.m. here on Bolts Field
in the first round game of the Regional Tournament. Make plans to come out and cheer them on
to victory! GO BOLTS!
Coach Miller would like to congratulate the Boys JV Basketball team for their outstanding season!
They finished six and seven and took 4th place in the District JV Tournament last weekend. Way to
go, team!
The Lady Bolts Varsity Basketball team is hosting a tournament here at Ridge as a fundraiser.
Please see Coach Hardy (2-205), Coach Belcher (3-229), or Coach Baker (3-219) for details.
Teachers: Please see the email from Mrs. Looney with student names who are approved to attend
the presentation by Edward Waters College today during 3rd period.
Seniors: If you have still not ordered your cap and gown, or any other senior item, like
announcements, etc., order forms are located at the back counter of the office. Only about half of
the class has ordered cap and gowns so far. Please get this done as soon as possible. See Mrs. James
in 2-115 if you have any questions.
Seniors: If you signed up for cap and gown pictures, you will receive an appointment card and order
form very soon. You will need to have the appointment card with you for your appointment as it is
your pass to leave class. Please bring your order form with exact cash or check with you to your
appointment. You may pay with a credit card in advance of your appointment by following the
instructions at the bottom of the order form. Please see Mrs. Ford (Room2-220) if you have
questions or need to cancel for any reason.

- $20.
Dual Enrollment students:
*Polk State College will be on campus Monday, February 2nd for the last day of registration.
*There are still seats available for registration in certain courses.
*If you are interested in taking College Success after school, we have a Tuesday/Thursday class from
6-7:35 p.m. and a Monday/Wednesday class from 3 – 4:35 p.m.
*If you are interested in taking World Religion, there is a Tuesday/Thursday class from 3-4:35 p.m.
and a Thursday only class from 5:45-9 p.m.
The Annual HBCU Jump-Off is scheduled for Sat., Jan. 31st at the Coleman Bush Building in Lakeland
from 8-noon. All Florida HBCU’s will have a representative available to speak with students and
parents.
Class of 2015: A Financial Aid Night Workshop presented by Polk State College will be held here in
our Media Center on Thursday, February 12th from 6 – 8 p.m.
The Ridge League of Cities has four $2500 scholarships available to Polk County students. Your
personal statement, community service, financial need, GPA and leadership will be judged. See Mrs.
Looney for an application by Friday, February 20th.
Students – Progress monitoring testing is taking place. Please take it very seriously and do your
best on each assessment. This data is used for your placement into courses.
Dress code check by teachers in first period every day. Email documentation of those reminded
should be sent to administration. Please call a dean if it is totally inappropriate.
Students are to go directly to 1st period in the mornings. No one should be standing in the courtyard
or halls before school. Teachers, thank you for helping us enforce this each morning.
Upperclassmen – you are not to be at or in Building 12 unless you have a class in the building
All students – “Restricted Areas” are off limits to students. Do not go behind the Building 4 and the
gym. You must go through the courtyard.
