Find those in your community with whom you share a special interest, and get social! Join a Community Group – Quilting circles, book clubs, fishing trips etc. Look for opportunities and more in your community to make new and lasting connections. Volunteer – You have so many skills to offer. What better way to use them than to contribute to a charity of your choice? You can find all kinds of organizations to support either online or in your community. Do you have a green thumb? Help plan a community garden. Do you have the fastest needles in east? Grab some friends and knit hats for cancer patients. There’s so much you can accomplish when you work together as a community. Many family members joined us. We enjoyed a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. They handed out candy treats and took pictures with residents and their visitors. We had piano players playing Christmas Tunes while everyone feasted on all of their favorite holiday foods. Craft tables were set up and children had fun making hand print santas and reindeer cocoa bags. Many of the ladies thought it was the perfect time to wear a tiara. We brought in the new year with food, lots of noise makers, and were surrounded by our Heritage friends and family. We took the time to reflect on the highlights of 2014 and we all look forward to the new and exciting activities and events in store for us in 2015.
